I started college a couple of months ago, and as scary as it can be, It’s going pretty well. I'm fortunate enough to be attending the same college as my identical twin Charlotte. So when anything gets tough for one of us we can lean on the other.
Being twins I guess that's pretty normal, just like how we pretty much do everything together. Although there are some things that only one of us does, like Charlotte and her cheerleader practice.
She’s been a cheerleader since our first year in high school, and honestly, she’s really good at it, and well it makes her super happy. Since I wasn’t a girl I wasn’t allowed to join them, which is okay with me, I was perfectly happy just watching.
That changed this year when we started college. After her first few practices, her squad noticed me and asked Charlotte why I was always on the sidelines watching them. She explained we were twins, and I didn’t do anything during this time.
I’m pretty sure they knew we were twins, after all, we look the exact same, well I guess except for our chests, hers is well, bigger, while mine is as flat as a piece of paper. Other than that, I’m the same height and size.
My hair is also a lot shorter, but that's as far as the visual differences between us. So I guess it shouldn’t have surprised me when they thought I was also a girl and asked my sister if I wanted to join the squad. I turned bright red and Charlotte began laughing.
When she finally stopped she explained to them that I was male, and well they looked surprised for a minute but overall didn’t seem to care. They said they could find me something to do if I didn’t want to cheer with them, at least that way I wouldn’t be sitting there bored.
I didn’t think it could hurt and agreed thinking I would basically be their water boy. And at first, I was, until they started giving me more and more to do. I was tasked with scheduling practices around everyone's school schedules, designing new uniforms, and making sure all the equipment was present at the weekly football games.
It wasn’t long after I started learning about new routines and coming up with my own that they started making me demonstrate them for them. So essentially I had also become a cheerleader, the only difference is I was more like a coach.
So for the first half of the year, things worked just like that, and our squad was really great. We had actually gotten a lot of attention for how well our routines were. Even getting the attention of a dance agent.
He was apparently coming to the game next month just to check us out. So of course all the girls and my sister were super excited, and worked me to the bone to come up with an amazing and fresh new routine.
Of course, I was excited too, and I was more than up for the challenge. So I began creating some of my best work, and when I was done I presented it to the squad. Over the next three weeks, I worked overtime just to help each one of them learn their parts.
The night before the big day we did our final practice and it was perfect, from the way they moved with each other to the music we chose, there was no way this wouldn’t knock the socks off of everyone.
As everyone was packing up I came out with a surprise for everyone. I had new stylish uniforms made for the day. They were all excited and asked how I got the money to pay for them. After all, they were only allowed one new set a year, and they got that when I joined.
I told them I had made the design and convinced the cosplay club to create them for use. Of course, to get them to do it I had to give in to some of their demands, one being shorter skirts and two being front-row seats.
As you can guess, they’re a bunch of perverts but they make amazing outfits. Each of the girls thanked me and took an outfit, my sister grabbed hers and I could almost see stars in her eyes. She grabbed me and gave me a big hug.
She told me she should have gotten me into cheerleading years ago, saying since I joined things have been much funner and she loves getting to do her favorite hobby with me involved. I turned red and agreed with her, it was fun and so much better than sitting on the side.
So the next morning Charlotte woke me up early and dragged me to the field to begin setting up. They begin doing their pre-cheer exercises and I go and chat with the person in charge of playing music.
While I was setting the schedule of music for our halftime routine, one of the cheerleaders fell off someone's shoulders and fell to the ground. I heard a loud yell and immediately ran over to see what happened.
I saw one of them on the ground holding her ankle and my sister explained she had fallen and landed on it. I grabbed some ice from our cooler, wrapped it in a towel, and gave it to her to put on the affected area.
I then helped her up and we went to the nurse to have her looked at. The nurse said it was merely a sprain. But she would have to stay off of it for a couple of weeks, and definitely wouldn’t be able to cheer today.
The nurse insisted on keeping her there to rest for a bit, and she would find someone to take her home. So I returned to the squad and gave them the bad news. Then I sat on the bench to try and come up with a new plan.
After a few minutes, I looked up to see them all staring at me. They were counting on me to come up with some sort of fix, but all of our routines required twelve people and we were one short. They all looked disappointed, preparing to do the basics they learned before I joined since those can be done with any number of people.
That’s when Charlotte stopped, looking at me like she had a solution. She smiled and asked if she found another person to fill the spot, everything could go as planned right? I nodded my head, but I asked her who on earth did she know that would be able to learn a performance in a couple of hours when we spent a month learning it.
That’s when the most sinister smile crept up on her face. She said she didn’t know anyone who could learn it that quickly, but she did know someone who already knew all the moves, possibly better than the whole squad.
The rest of the squad surrounded her all with hope gleaming in their eyes asking who it was. She just smiled and told them to think about it. Then, they all turned towards me and matched her evil smile.
I finally realized she was talking about me. I told them there was no way, I didn’t even have a uniform to wear, and it’s in the club rules that all people on the squad wear uniforms, that way the school knows who can go on the field.
My sister said she would take care of that and ran off. The other girls continued to beg me to do it and dragged me into the field to do the stretches and warmups. Of course, It was one vs ten, so I quickly submitted it and went with it.
I did the warm-ups and started practicing my part. As much as I hate to admit it, they were right, I had pretty much perfected each part since I spent so much time helping them all practice. Although my body is a bit more stiff than theirs, so I sometimes have jagged movements.
The other girls were able to make noise when I did, and we got it all corrected before my sister returned with an outfit for me and a makeup box. She dragged me to the locker room and handed me the uniform.
I unfolded it and looked back at her like she had played some sort of joke. I asked her what this was, and she said it was the uniform. She brought it to the cosplay club and had it fitted to my size. Saying it wasn’t that hard since we're pretty similar in size, so she gave them her extra and had them make it tighter.
I asked her why she didn’t have them turn it into a male uniform, and put her hand on her head. She said that was her original intent, but those guys didn’t want to make anything for a male, so she lied and said it was for a femboy, and the group went crazy and agreed, which is why the top is slightly padded.
I told her I wasn’t a femboy though, and I didn’t want to wear a skirt. That’s when she started to cry begging me to do it for her, and that she’d do anything to pay me back for it. So once again I lost the battle of wills and got changed.
She handed me a pair of boyshorts and had me tuck myself so nothing showed too much, just in case someone caught a view, after she said that the mere thought made me burn in embarrassment. So now I had the full uniform on and I was ready to go out and get this over with, but she stopped me and said I had to wear matching makeup as well.
Sitting here in a skirt already, I more than lost the ability to back out or protest. So I sat down and let her do her thing. She finishes up about twenty minutes before the game is set to begin and we make our way back to the field to meet up with the group.
Right before we get back to the field she stops me again. She said it was likely that people would be able to tell it was me even though I looked more like a girl than ever. Mostly because I looked just like her, and most people knew we were twins, but if it would be less embarrassing she could call me by something else.
She even said that might even help throw people off. I said sure, what's the worst that could come from it at this point. So I went from Charles to Charlene since my sister's name was already Charlotte.
We walk out and the whole squad begins to cheer as my sister introduces her new sister, Charlene, they all group together to hug and compliment me. I was so embarrassed I thought I would pass out, but after a minute and a bottle of water, it passed.
So the squad waits eagerly for the game to start and I kinda hide myself in the middle of all of them to avoid as much attention as possible. The bleachers begin to fill up with fans, and the teams start taking the field.
So we begin our small routines that they do during the first two quarters, cheering our team on and bringing the hype and support they need to win. By the time half-time gets close we take a break to prepare.
I sat on the bench exhausted, I never realized how much more tiring it was to do this for so long without a break, I really had to give it to the rest of the squad for their stamina and endurance. I grabbed some water and started preparing myself for the big part.
Then it starts, and we go out and perform the most amazing cheerleader performance, landing each move perfectly. In perfect sync, not missing anything, and then finishing with a massive group pose.
The cheers were incredible, they loved it, they loved us. The girls and I made our way to the side of the field and celebrated. Of course, our job wasn’t done yet, we still had another half to go. I guess I stopped being embarrassed and started enjoying it, as the second half flew by much quicker than the first.
By the end of the game, we were all having a mini-party in the girls locker room. Everyone was praising each other and taking pictures together. Of course, they included me or forced me actually. At this point I didn’t mind, after all the games were all recorded so there was no denying I did this.
As they were all talking, the principal walked in and told us someone wanted to speak with us. It was the dancing agent and he was very impressed. He said the group was amazing and was surprised that a college squad had such a high-quality performance.
He even said we put some professional groups to shame. Then he offered to sign the group, saying he’d be entering them into competitions and even get them to work for music productions and even some movies.
He pretty much said there was a ton of work for a group of their skill and would be a fool not to hire them right away. The agent did have a few requirements, one being the contract would be a minimum of two years.
And the other was that each member had to sign. They seemed to have no problem and he pulled out a stack of contracts for everyone to read over. He handed them to Charlotte, who then passed them to everyone else.
They were all reading them over and I was just sitting there being happy for them. The agent seemed concerned and asked me if I wasn’t interested. I was confused, until I relaxed because he didn't know the situation.
I explained to him I was merely a temp who filled in for the day and not the actual member. I even offered to bring the contract to the member I was filling in for. The man looked displeased and said he didn’t want her.
He wanted everyone who participated today, and that included me. I tried my best to convince the man otherwise, but Charlotte went and ran her big mouth, letting the man know I was also the one who came up with all the routines and outfits.
I could feel my eyes nearly shooting daggers at my sister. She just smiled, knowing exactly what she was doing. The man doubled down saying that if I was the core of this squad I had to be included. He handed me a contract and pen, and I looked down at it and then back up.
With eleven girls with puppy dog eyes all begging me to do it with just their expressions, I sealed my fate and signed the contract. So for at least the next two years, I’ll be living full-time as Charlene the amazing performance coordinator, outfit designer, and performer. It’s a little embarrassing but, I think I’ll actually like it, after all, I’m super cute. Although I’d look cuter with a chest like Charlotte’s.
