Roseo was sitting in his bed with tears in his eyes. While at school today a group of bullies started beating him up for being small and weak, and because of that he was helpless to stop him.
By now he’d of thought he was used to it, after all for some reason despite how nice or hard he tries to please people, he has some unnatural ability to make everyone hate him just by looking at him.
Even his parents hated him, favoring his older sister and always letting him know when she was not around. So when he walked in covered in bruises they didn’t even bat an eye. The only one who seemed to care was his older sister.
“What happened Roseo?” He looked over at his parents who only looked over because she spoke. “It’s nothing okay, just leave me alone.” He then ran to his room and locked the door, sitting on his bed nearly crying.
It wasn’t her fault, but he hated her. It was mostly because he was jealous of her, she had many friends, and their parents actually licked her, and she seemingly took it all for granted. It just wasn’t fair, and he was so angry about it.
He just wanted to do something to hurt her, like he’s been hurt all these years. So the following day when she went out to hang out with some friends, Roseo snuck into her bedroom. “Damn there are so many plushes in here, but I know what I’m looking for is here.”
Roseo looked around, his sister's room was so pink, covered with posters and pictures of her friends. Roseo honestly couldn't believe he was standing in the room of a seventeen-year-old, soon to be eighteen.
“It’s been years, and she still keeps her room like this... It’s kind of embarrassing.” Roseo started to walk around the room. He was looking for a specific plush, one his sister had gotten about a year ago, a cute teddy bear she named Star.
“Dammit, where is that bear.” He looked around for a few minutes when the light from the sun outside hit his eye, he looked over to the window and saw Star sitting on the windowsill. “Ah, there you are Star.”
Roseo walks over and picks him up. “Now that I found you, you’re coming with me.” Roseo looks at the bear and gets a weird feeling from it. “Strange... It feels like the bear is sad…” Roseo shrugs it off and sneaks back to his room.
He locks his door and goes to his closet. “Alright Star, I’m just going to hide you up here, no big deal, I’ll give you back to Lily tomorrow after she gets upset or something about you being gone.”
Roseo hides Star and as he closes his closet he feels that weird feeling again coming from the bear. “What’s going on? It’s… It’s like the bear is crying…” He gulps, feeling really bad, but chooses to ignore it.
Roseo was sitting at the kitchen table alone when Lily came back home. She said hello to him and went right to her room. He was almost excited at her reaction, but after an hour of waiting he became confused.
After two he realized she hadn’t noticed yet, and decided to go to his room. Sleeping that night was hard, as Roseo could still feel the bear being upset in his closest, but he kept ignoring it as best as he could.
Days passed and Lily still hadn’t asked about Star, heck as far as Roseo knew, she didn’t even notice. Roseo once again lay in bed listening to the cries of the bear, and finally, he couldn’t take it anymore.
He went to the closet and pulled him out. “Hey please stop crying… I’m sorry okay… I’ll give you back to Star in the morning…” Roseo walked to the window and placed Star on it. “Here watch the stars for tonight.”
He was then about to go lay back down when he could have sworn the bear asked him why he did it. “Huh? Did you just…” Roseo looks at the bear confused but walks over to it. “God, I must be losing it. I’m actually hallucinating a teddy bear talking.”
He sits next to the bear and watches the night sky with him. “Sigh, I guess no one else will listen to my problems… So here goes.” Roseo then told Star everything, from being bullied to his jealousy of his sister.
“And that’s why I stole you, so I could hurt her, but it doesn’t seem to have worked.” Roseo looked at the bear and got a conferring feeling from it. “It’s crazy, you’re being a teddy bear, but honestly I swear you’re alive.”
Roseo chuckles. “I guess that’s why you're her favorite huh? I’m really surprised she forgot about you…” Roseo looks towards her room. “Kind of weird…” Roseo gets another feeling from the bear and looks up towards the sky.
“What’s that? OH, a shooting star! Star, what should I wish for?” Roseo looked down and back up quickly. “I know! I wish everyone loved me just like they love Lily!” Roseo laughs a bit. “I know it’s pointless right, shooting starts don’t actually work.”
Roseo stands up. “Well Star, I should be getting to bed…. Do… Do you want to come with me?” Roseo said face turning bright red. Roseo got another feeling that the bear was happy to join him, and the two hit the hay together.
The morning comes and the two get out of bed. “Yawn… Oh, good morning Star, I guess you’ll want to be going back home now… Thanks for keeping me company... Strangely I feel a lot better now.”
They leave the room together and see Lily and their parents sitting at the table. “Hey sweetheart, breakfast will be ready in a minute.” “After that, come over here and I’ll brush your hair out.”
Confused, the two walk into the kitchen. “Hey, Rose! Is that Star? I was wondering where he got off to, you two have a good night?” Rose was very confused. “You’re not mad I stole him? Also, why are you calling me Rose? And since when are our parents this friendly with me?”
Lily looked really confused. “Of course I’m not mad, Star is my best friend, and he could be yours too, plus with me being busier lately, I’m glad he gets to spend time with someone who loves him as much as I do.”
Lily then put her hand on her chin. “As for why I called you Lily, it’s your name, and finally I have no idea what you mean by our parents. You’re their little girl they love and spoil you.” Lily says laughing.
“Little girl?” Rose hadn’t even noticed the change. She was small before so she didn’t change in size at all, but something was clearly missing, and her hair was definitely longer. “I… I became a girl?”
Lily laughed again. “I’m not really sure what game you’re playing today, but aren't you a little old for make-believe? You’ve always been a girl like me.” Rose’s father comes over to the table and places a plate of eggs and bacon on it.
“Here you go, just like you like them.” Rose sits at the table and looks at the food. She couldn’t believe it, it was exactly as she liked them. “Thanks, Dad.” Her dad smiles and returns to the kitchen.
Lily stands up. “I’m off to hang out with some friends. You and Star have a good day.” “Yeah, we will.” Lily smiles and leaves. Rose finishes her breakfast and goes to sit by her mother. “Alright Rose, try to sit still while I brush your hair out.” “Okay… I’ll try.”
Rose sat there silently holding Star. She was a bit nervous. She’d never done anything like this with her mother before. As time passed, her mother kept talking to her, praising her, and giving her compliments, and she couldn’t help but feel all warm inside.
“Alright, all done. Now you’re free to go.” Rose stood up. “Thanks, mom.” She said and smiled running to her room to get dressed. Before that, she placed Star on the bed and faced him. “This is all crazy right Star? I’m a girl now, and they all like me!”
Rose said while giggling. “Shooting starts are real! I can’t believe it!” She ran over to her closet and pulled out a black dress. “I don’t even care that it turned me into a girl! If it means everyone will like me just like Lily I’m perfectly happy.”
She gets the dress on and returns to Star. “I hope you didn’t peep on me mister.” Rose says still giggling. “I’ve got a whole new life!” She looks down at Star. “Honestly it’s all because of you Star.”
She picks him up and hugs him tightly. “Thank you… I don’t know if you know what it’s like to be so alone, but because of you, neither of us will be again. I’ll love and cherish you forever. So thank you, my friend.”
Rose gets the feeling from the bear again, and she knows he is just as happy. “Alright bestie, shall we get on with our day?” Rose smiled and walked out of her room with Star held tightly to her chest. Two once-lonely people will forever have each other to love them and make sure they're never alone again.

Mostly by talking with them. They’re someone who just started making stories and was holding a competition. I wasn’t really interested in the competition and offered to do a collab instead.
