“So Doc, will this machine be able to teleport someone to another reality?” I look towards Marty quite disappointed. “Not exactly kid, Like I said three times already, It places the person in another reality where a version of them exists.”
“Oh, but what happens if they’re dead in that reality? And what happens to the version of them from that reality? Do they come here?” The kid keeps asking me questions I’ve answered a million times already.
“Did I not give you all the information you need in that book?” “I don’t know maybe, it’s like a hundred pounds and has thousands of pages, most of which are scribbles.” I walked over to the book and flipped through the pages, it was extremely messy and confusing.
“Fair enough I suppose. Alright let me go over it then. So technically if in another reality you already died, you don’t exist right, so the machine will skip over those. As for the version of you that you take over.”
“They’ll be in a sort of dream-like state in the subconscious of their mind for as long as you’re in control of them. Once you return here, they’ll continue life not knowing another version of them was in control.”
“Well I suppose that doesn’t sound too bad, but how exactly do I come back afterwards?” Excitedly I run over to my machine and grab the device to operate it. Then I place it in Marty’s hands. “This is how.”
“Uh, what is it?” “Why it has a few functions, but the most important being, it’ll return you to your home reality when pressed. It also allows me to track which reality you end up in, without it, you’ll be stuck, so don’t break it.”
“If my physical body doesn’t go to this new reality, how does the device do it?” “Well that's a bit more complicated, but put simply it's the thing that actually travels between realities, and your mind is stored inside.”
“When it reaches the new reality it pushes your mind into your double’s body, then you hit the button and it reverses all of it.” “Oh that’s pretty simple.” I can tell he has no idea how it works. “It’s actually very complex, but I don’t think you’d understand it.”
“Ouch Doc. Well, I only have one question left. What is the point? What do I do there?” “Well this is merely the first test, so go there and come right back. My hope is that it works, but if it does, the possibilities from it are endless.”
“I’ll tell you more when you come back, for now step on this platform.” Marty steps onto the platform and I begin activating the machine. “Alright, the first interdimensional travel will commence in, three, two, one.”
With that the kids body begins to flop over, being caught by arms I pre installed. I walk over and help take his body off the platform and lay it down on a nearby couch. “Now let’s check on our little reality hopper.”
I go over to the machine and activate the tracker. It takes a few minutes, either because Marty is still traveling, or because of signal delay. It is coming from another universe. I expected it to be delayed, heck, Marty might even get back before I receive the signal back.
So nothing to do but wait, Marty should be back soon, assuming nothing goes wrong. Hours pass, and he still hasn’t returned. I hope for his sake he’s just messing around over there, and not in trouble.
As I began to pace back and forth wondering what happened to him, I finally got a signal from the device in the world he ended up in. I run over to the computer and begin to trace the signal back, so I can make the connection stable.
This only takes a few minutes, once the connection is stable I was able to make the signal hop back and forth quicker. So I should be racing updates from his tracker in real time now. Which is good, as it tells me he’s alive and well.
So it’s as I hoped, he probably ended up as a richer version of himself and decided to have fun. Sorry for him, now that I have the connection, I can use it to force him back here. So little Marty is coming home.
I began the process of retrieving him, when I got a critical failure. I was confused as everything seemed to be working. That was until the tracker cut all signals. Something must have happened to him, or the device.
There's only one thing I can do. I still have a signal leading to that world, so I can use it to follow him and bring him home. I rush to action, grabbing two control devices and jumping onto the platform.
“Alright, the first interdimensional rescue mission will commence in, three, two, one.” Suddenly my mind was sucked out of my body and stuffed into the box. I didn’t think it would feel so crowded.
After some time I felt myself pushed into another body, and I opened my eyes to find myself inside a very fancy laboratory. “Wow, this version of myself is doing well. He must have had some big breakthrough to get the budget for a lab like this.”
As I said that, I noticed my voice sounded much higher. In Fact my body feels much different, even younger. I look down to try and inspect, but can’t see past my chest. “Interesting, It seems this version of me was born female, or at least presenting as such.”
“I’ve been in a few different forms, but never one like this.” I reach my hands up and feel different areas of my body, including my breasts. “Wow, that’s quite nice. I wish I had time to explore this body, for science of course.”
“But alas, Marty is waiting for me, probably.” I walk over to a computer and hack into it since I don’t know the password. I enter a secure mode, and hack into the database that houses the lists of all registered drivers.
I began searching for Marty directly, but got no matches. “Maybe Marty has a different name in this world, let me try his parents' names.” I type in and search for his parents, and they’re there on the list.
“Lets see, George and Lorraine, let's check their kids. Let’s see, they have kids named Dave and Linda, and one more named Martha. “Martha huh, Marty must be a woman in this world as well.”
“Now I’m sure he’s just stuck here, I don’t think that poor boy could handle being a woman.” I check the address on Martha’s license and write it down on a piece of paper. “Alright it’s time to get going.”
I get up and walk over to the door. I place my hand on the scanner and my fingerprints are scanned. The door opens and I’m able to leave the room. Now I just needed to find a set of car keys.
I look around and walk through the facility until I find what seems to be my bedroom. I enter the room and a voice starts speaking to me. “Welcome back Doctor, are you ready for your afternoon relaxation?”
“Uh… Can I just have a set of car keys?” “I can provide them afterwards, I’m under strict orders to force you to relax and have a good time after work. It was your order, something about helping your mental health.”
“Well, I suppose I’m not that much in a rush, Marty can wait. Okay let's do it.” “Very good Doctor.” Suddenly I heard the door lock behind me, and long robotical hands appeared from the walls and ceiling.
It ripped all my clothes off and pushed me into the bed. Two sets of hands appeared from the bed and started holding down my arms and legs. “Uh.. Ceiling voice, what is going on here? Why do I need to be held down?”
“As if you don’t know the Doctor. I asked you once, I didn’t really understand it, but when I asked you, you said something about being into it.” My heart skipped a few beats. “Into it? Like some sort of kink?”
“That’s what you said, you wanted to be held down as the fuck machine is on. You said the struggle really helped you get off.” “Wait no stop, I don’t want to do this. Cancel it and turn it off now.”
The voice didn’t respond. Instead another robot arm popped out of the bed. This one didn’t have hands, instead it had a large dildo attached to it. It got up nice and close to my vagina and sat there for a moment.
