“Oh, but what happens if they’re dead in that reality? And what happens to the version of them from that reality? Do they come here?” I start asking a ton of questions and the Docs frustration continues to grow.
“Did I not give you all the information you need in that book?” “I don’t know maybe, it’s like a hundred pounds and has thousands of pages, most of which are scribbles.” The Doc walks over to the book and flips through some of its pages.
“Fair enough I suppose. Alright let me go over it then. So technically if in another reality you already died, you don’t exist right, so the machine will skip over those. As for the version of you that you take over.”
“They’ll be in a sort of dream-like state in the subconscious of their mind for as long as you’re in control of them. Once you return here, they’ll continue life not knowing another version of them was in control.”
“Well I suppose that doesn’t sound too bad, but how exactly do I come back afterwards?” The Doc runs over to the machine and grans something off of it. He returns and hands it to me. “This is how.”
“Uh, what is it?” “Why it has a few functions, but the most important being, it’ll return you to your home reality when pressed. It also allows me to track which reality you end up in, without it, you’ll be stuck, so don’t break it.”
“If my physical body doesn’t go to this new reality, how does the device do it?” “Well that's a bit more complicated, but put simply it's the thing that actually travels between realities, and your mind is stored inside.”
“When it reaches the new reality it pushes your mind into your double body, then you hit the button and it reverses all of it.” “Oh that’s pretty simple.” The Doc looks annoyed again. “It’s actually very complex, but I don’t think you’d understand it.”
“Ouch Doc. Well, I only have one question left. What is the point? What do I do there?” “Well this is merely the first test, so go there and come right back. My hope is that it works, but if it does, the possibilities from it are endless.”
“I’ll tell you more when you come back, for now step on this platform.” I step up onto the platform and the Docs start pressing buttons on the machine. “Alright, the first interdimensional travel will commence in, three, two, one.”
I’m zapped by the machine and everything goes black, well sorta. It was like I was removed and put into a small box. After a few minutes It felt like I was pushed into something and then I was able to see and hear again.
I looked around, I was in an unfamiliar house. This version of me was apparently very lazy, as I was laying on the couch watching television and surrounded by snacks. I try to get up, but find it very difficult.
I look down and see that I’m now super fat, and I even have a large pair of tits. “Great, I got the version of myself with massive man boobs, and a gut.” I manage to get up, and I put the device in my pocket so it won't get lost.

The man kissed me on the forehead and left the room. As he left I kinda fell back onto the toilet. “I sure hope the Doc had a backup plan, because if not, I’m going to have to spend the rest of my life as a woman.”
As I said that I felt another kick from the baby. “I hope he figures it out before I have to give birth. I don’t think I’m ready for that, or motherhood.” I sigh to myself. “Maybe there's a version of the Doc in this world I can find.”

I sincerely hope that the professor built something like a tracking module into the device so that you can find out exactly where the subject went and the module will self-diagnose so that he knows if the device is broken ... If the professor was not provided for, then this guy (although now it would probably be more correct to say "this lady") has a lot to go through ... And I'm not sure that in a year she will even want to return (otherwise it will be even better)
