I was so excited when I got the tweet notification and it was an illustration where I really pushed myself to try and include some effects.
I actually have a real-life friend named AJ who first started doing Artist Alley around the same time I did, and I always admired him for his amazing coloring and mastery over creating awesome effects. We don't really talk anymore, but whenever its time to draw lightening, fire, water, or any other particulate effect I always think of him and his art!
