Chapter 100: Pain
🕑 Added 2025-09-20 03:28:31 +0000 UTC Chen Siting told me to go back to Country M. This sentence made me very nervous. The innocent face of the Korean beauty was a little hysterical, her lips trembled slightly, and her big eyes were filled with grievance and disappointment, which was heartbreaking to see.
Especially when her soft little hand hit my face, causing the tender white palm to turn slightly red. You can imagine how much strength the Korean beauty burst out in an instant after suppressing her immense anger. I was hit so hard that I was a little dazed. I stood there for several seconds, motionless and looking at Chen Siting in astonishment.
"Sister, can you listen to my explanation?"
I quickly came to my senses from the pain. I never thought that Chen Siting would know about Qin Xinmei and me, and I had never thought about how to deal with such an emergency. Now that this shameful secret has been discovered, I have to calm down Chen Siting who is about to go berserk, and then find a way to solve it.
Chen Siting took a deep breath, holding the racket tightly in one hand, with a somewhat creepy expression: "Does your behavior require any explanation?"
I looked at Chen Siting, her innocent and pretty face was somewhat irritable and ferocious, as if she wanted to cut me into pieces. I remained silent and could only wait for her to calm down before speaking.
Chen Siting didn't say anything, just stared at me, like a little female cat whose tail was stepped on. She was holding a selfie stick in her hand. If I spoke again or angered her, she might raise the selfie stick and hit me at any time.
Time passed by little by little, and Chen Siting and I stared at each other. After a minute, I turned my head away from her out of guilt, and stood there uneasily, counting the minutes and seconds silently.
At this moment, I hoped Qin Xinmei and Chen Qianqing would return soon, but I also didn't want Qin Xinmei to show up. I feared Chen Siting might get carried away and question her about the photo, which would be more terrifying than the end of the world. I breathed a sigh of relief when Qin Xinmei and Chen Qianqing appeared. But as they approached in silence, I felt a surge of anxiety. I wondered if this would cause Chen Siting to dislike Qin Xinmei, and perhaps even affect our long-standing mother-daughter relationship.
Fortunately, my worries were unnecessary. Chen Siting returned to her original image, with a smile on her pretty face and no depressed look in her big eyes.
Qin Xinmei and Chen Qianqing walked over to us. Chen Siting suddenly covered her stomach and said in a depressed mood: "Mom, aunt, do you guys still want to play? I've had my period these past two days and my stomach hurts. How about I go home and sleep for a while, and you guys can play."
Chen Qianqing stepped on her black high heels and took the lead in getting to Qin Xinmei. She hurriedly supported Chen Siting's arm and asked worriedly, "Tingting, how do you feel? Do you want to go to the hospital?"
Chen Siting's innocent face was filled with a look of pain, and she said sullenly, "Aunt, there's no need to go to the hospital. I've had my period these past two days, so I'll just go home and lie down for a while."
Qin Xinmei noticed Chen Siting's expression and felt a little worried. She frowned slightly and said, "Okay, that's all for today, Siting. Let's go to the hospital with you."
I suddenly remembered that Chen Siting had told me yesterday that she had her period, but I didn't know if she was just pretending to feel pain or was just faking it? Maybe she was in a bad mood because she saw the photo of Qin Xinmei and me just now, so she didn't want to play anymore?
However, looking at Chen Siting's expression, her stomachache didn't seem fake. I felt a little uncomfortable and whispered, "Sister, if you don't want to go to the hospital, I'll make you some brown sugar water when you get home."
"Mom, aunt, there's no need to go to the hospital. I'll just go home and lie down for a while." Chen Siting ignored me and walked towards the exit of the playground with the support of her aunt.
Just like that, the weekend trip that they had originally planned to have a good day of fun ended unpleasantly. On their way to the parking lot, Qin Xinmei and Chen Qianqing insisted that Chen Siting go to the hospital to get some medicine, but Chen Siting refused, saying it was a small matter and that she could just go home and lie down for a while.
Qin Xinmei frowned slightly, but couldn't persuade Chen Siting, so she had to go along with her. With a worried look on her face, she told him to go home and boil some brown sugar water to drink, and if the stomach pain didn't subside, she should go to the hospital.
I looked at Qin Xinmei, and suddenly a strong feeling of uneasiness welled up in my heart. If Qin Xinmei also knew that Chen Siting had seen the photo of kissing at the beach that day, how would things develop?
Qin Xinmei noticed that I was a little distracted and also noticed a faint bruise on my face. She frowned and asked, "Chen Qing, what's wrong with your face?"
My heart tightened. Chen Siting had just slapped me on the face. It hurt a lot, and there must have been a red mark, though it wasn't very clear. I touched my slapped face, feeling a little guilty and shaking my head, "Mom, I'm fine. My sister isn't feeling well. Let's go home quickly."
At this moment, I was indeed worried and a little uneasy, afraid that Qin Xinmei would notice something.
Qin Xinmei's brows furrowed even deeper, worried about Chen Siting. She didn't question me again, but just glared at me and said, "Neither of you two siblings gives me peace of mind."
On the way home, Qin Xinmei said that there was not much ginger left at home, so she wanted to go to the market to buy some, and also buy some vegetables to make lunch.
An hour later, Chen Siting returned home, holding her belly and going upstairs silently. After returning to her room, she closed the door. It seemed that she was suffering from the torture of her period.
"Mom, I'm going to make some brown sugar water for my sister." After I finished speaking, I ran to the kitchen with a sense of urgency. While I was washing the ginger, Qin Xinmei ran into the kitchen. Probably because she was dissatisfied with my cooking, she pushed me aside and took over the job of making brown sugar water.
Chen Qianqing dotes on Chen Siting very much. Although menstruation is a normal thing, the Korean beauty is like a little princess in this family and is very precious. When Qin Xinmei and I were busy in the kitchen, Chen Qianqing went upstairs to accompany her.
Half an hour later, the brown sugar water was ready. I took the bowl and volunteered to serve it to Chen Siting. Qin Xinmei nodded and told me to be careful not to break the bowl when going upstairs.
But Qin Xinmei was still worried, so she pulled a small tray from the sterilizer and asked me to hold it more securely. I carried the brown sugar water to Chen Siting's room and knocked on the door. It creaked softly, and it was Chen Qianqing who opened it. Seeing me carrying the sugar water, she stepped aside and let me in.
Chen Qianqing said, "Chen Qing, I'm going to make lunch. If Siting doesn't show any signs of improvement after drinking the brown sugar water, let's go to the hospital."
I looked at the desk in Chen Siting's room. There was only a notebook and a dozen neatly arranged books. I gently placed the sugar water on the empty space next to the desk and nodded. "Don't worry, aunt, I know what to do. You and mom can make lunch. I'll stay here with my sister."
"Call me if you need anything." Chen Qianqing replied and turned to walk out of the room.
Chen Siting was lying on the bed, her pair of jade feet wearing short socks, her eyes closed, a hot water bag placed on her belly under her white skirt, her pretty face tense, and she looked very uncomfortable.
I sat on the edge of the bed and gently pushed Chen Siting's shoulder: "Sister, get up and drink some brown sugar water."
Chen Siting's long hair was scattered on the pillow. She opened her eyes and squinted at me. She looked a little listless, and her pretty face looked a little weak, which was heartbreaking to look at. She stared at me without saying a word.
Seeing that Chen Siting didn't seem to want to pay attention to me, I could only say sullenly, "Sister, get up and drink some sugar water first. If you hate me or something, you can scold me later when you have the energy."
Chen Siting raised a hand and suddenly pushed me, gnashing her teeth and saying impatiently, "Get out now! I'm getting annoyed just by seeing you."
I grabbed Chen Siting's delicate hand and said hurriedly, "Sister, let me explain. Just listen to me."
Now, I feel a little uncomfortable. Chen Siting even stops calling me brother. She used to call me that sweetly, but now she just ignores me. I guess it’s because of her period. The sweet and pure smile that the Korean beauty always had on her face has disappeared.
Chen Siting covered her lower abdomen with one hand and said with an uneasy look, "I will drink the brown sugar water when it's cold. Please get out. I don't want to hear any explanations now."
"Sister, drink the brown sugar water and take a rest. I'll call you for lunch." I could only stand up from the bed and glance at Chen Siting. Seeing that her innocent face was aggrieved and sad, I sighed lightly, walked out of the room, and gently closed the door.
When I went downstairs, I remembered the photos. I took out my phone and looked through the album. It was empty. All the photos had been deleted by Chen Siting, including the photos of Qin Xinmei and I kissing and the photos I took of her in the amusement park. Not a single one was left.
I remembered that Chen Siting told me to go back to the United States, and I guess she didn't mean it, and my heart ached.
When I arrived at the hall, I didn't think any more about it. In order to prevent Qin Xinmei and Chen Qianqing from noticing anything, I walked into the kitchen with a smile. I saw Qin Xinmei and my sister-in-law busying themselves without saying a word, some washing vegetables and some cutting meat.
Although Qin Xinmei and Chen Qianqing had nothing to say to each other, they worked very well together in the kitchen. Chen Qianqing stood in front of the vegetable sink, wearing a blue apron and a pair of white slippers. Her fair feet caught my eye. When she saw me enter the kitchen, she stopped washing vegetables and asked in confusion, "Did Tingting drink the sugar water?"
I blinked. "Sister said to wait until it cools down before drinking it."
Qin Xinmei was wearing a beige skirt and a white striped apron. She glanced at me and sneered, "Go upstairs and keep Tingting company. You don't need to worry about the kitchen."
I raised my hand to touch my nose, but then I remembered that Qin Xinmei would see that I was guilty. To avoid being questioned, I dropped my hand between my legs and whispered, "My sister said she doesn't need me to accompany her. She wants to rest in peace." If it were usual, Chen Siting would be very happy to ask me to accompany her. But now, because of the kissing photo of Qin Xinmei and me, she was lucky not to sneak into my room in the middle of the night and chop me with a knife.
