ToG is the korean one piece, its super slow paced. The source material is better, but only in terms of fights and artstyle, not in terms of storytelling

I honestly respect this choice, it was KILLING me every time a Tower of God episode came on cause I knew it would half put me to sleep and I just zone out of it cause I do not care for the characters onscreen and the plot, I just ask myself "where the hell is this going lol?" I'm quite surprised because season one was pretty damn good! I'm not sure if this is because the studio is fumbling the canon source material adaptation due to scheduling and resource allocation issues or if it's just that the source material is quite trash tier for the moment. Hell I've fallin' asleep a few times while it was on lol.

For me the animation isn't even a real factor....jesus it's the freakin' slow burning plot and the fact that I don't give a shit about ANY of the characters most of the time. I find myself drifting away from the stream every time he watches a Tower of God episode and I thought season one was pretty lit! Indeed season two feels so lackluster, similar to a few other series in the past.

Speaking of a series u dropped that got way better. That Shinmai Ossan show with the Toriko peeps doing the OP. Shit had an epic 2 last eps amazing fight with pretty good animation. The whole last arc was one of the better tournament arcs I’ve seen. Worth keeping in mind

UPDATED! (ToG has been very disappointing this season, 5/10 at best, so I'm dropping it for now and MIGHT pick it back up if the next part of Season 2 is good... the WHOLE Cour 2)
