Chapter 1 - Mean Women
A class of twelve girls got dressed in the locker room at Laguna Conservatory, one of the first and foremost classical arts academies on the east coast of the United States. They were all busy taking off their heavy winter clothing and changing into their stretchy high waisted shorts, tights, leotards, and the like. The chilly air would be a welcome relief when they actually got into the dance hall and started practicing and rehearsing.

An embarrassed Jade juggled the phone in her hands as she hurried to lower the volume. Her mom’s screeching voice began to diminish, but it was too late. All of the girls had heard everything.
“Yes Mom. Uh huh. Yes. Yes, I’m listening! There are girls around...” Jade hissed.
She endured both her mother’s berating and the sound of bitchy snickering all around her until she mercifully could hang up the call.
“‘You didn’t even get prima ballerina!?’” Brittany mocked in singsong tones. The trust fund princess never missed an opportunity to remind anyone and everyone they were her inferiors. Especially modern peasants like Jade. “Sounds to me like your mom knows you real well, Jade,” she sneered. “Worthless.”
“You didn’t either, did you?” Tracy jumped in.
“Yeah, well, I wasn’t trying to!” Brittany retorted, surprised that someone with Tracy’s breeding would fail to take her side. Jade took the opportunity to get dressed while Brittany’s wrath was redirected.
“So you’re picking on Jade cuz she’s a better dancer than you and works harder? Got it.”
“At least I’m not a failure! I could’ve been prima ballerina if I tried.” Carefully arranged blonde locks bounced with growing outrage. She was better than these twits and even if it took all semester, she’d make them know their place!
“Spoken like a true loser.”

“At least I’m not a hypocrite!”
“‘At least I’m not a hypocrite!’” Brittany mocked in her mimicky high-pitched tone once more.
Tracy huffed at Brittany’s childish outburst before deciding instead to just keep her mouth shut. When you roll in the mud with a pig, the pig likes it, she thought to herself.
Brittany smiled in what she thought of as yet another triumph, walking off to the main dance studio as her ballerina shoes padded and squished quietly on her way out. She held her head high. They were worthless nobodies. She was gonna be a goddess. And then some people were going to burn…
“Thanks Tracy,” Jade commented. “So what happened? Am I suddenly in your good graces somehow?”
“I wouldn’t say so. I just hate Bitchney more than you.”
“‘I just hate Bitchney more than you!’” Jade did her impression of Brittany.
The two girls looked at each other and laughed. It was a tenuous relationship, but at least it was more pleasant than most of the cutthroat behavior of all of the alpha girls in Laguna Conservatory. They moved toward the studio together, unconsciously matching their steps.
Chapter 2 - Just Another East Coast Weather Shift

Madame Mikhailovna walked back to the front of the class.
“Continue warm-up routine, ladies,” she spoke in a thick Russian accent. “Remember what your goal is! Sacrifice today so you will be better tomorrow! Laguna Conservatory does not train second-string dancers! Right now you are nothing! But we will teach you, one day, to be best of the best!”
After her rousing, not-at-all-tired every day speech, Madame Mikhailovna did her usual routine of disappearing into one of the side rooms. It was an open secret that she was drinking. After all, the alcohol fumes were almost visibly wafting off her body whenever she decided to reappear.
As the girls stretched and warmed up on the barre, Brittany continued to berate Jade from a few positions away.
“Can’t even plie, huh?”
“Oh shut up, Brittany. She could’ve picked on anyone.”
“Uh huh, everyone says that. But lowkey she picks on you more than anyone else here. Bet.”
Jade averted Brittany’s gaze, looking to someone, anyone, for help. Her eyes fell on Tracy, but Tracy showed no interest in coming to her defense.
“You know it too, don’tcha!” Brittany gleefully jumped off the barre to confront Jade physically.
“What are you doing!?” Jade yelled. She glanced over to closet Madame Mikhailnovna’s own personal bar, but there was no sign of life in there.
Brittany overpowered Jade, pushing them both back against the studio’s window. Gray, dreary clouds loomed outside just Brittany pressed her body painfully against Jade. She was a lot stronger, after all.
“Brittany! You’re hurting me! Get off!” Jade wheezed.
The sound of shattering glass caught everyone’s attention. Jade panicked. Had Brittany somehow managed to break the window that she was pushing Jade into? She whipped her head around to see if she was about to be showered by jagged shards.
She was just in time to catch an ominous, neon green and pink stroke of light that seemed to erupt from the ground and strike from the sky simultaneously. All of the girls had come over to the window to see the commotion.
“It’s a... it’s a Shard Strike!” Kate called out.
Before anyone could flee, the window behind Jade actually cracked. Tracy was at their side, pulling at both girls.
“Run!!” she ordered.
An enormous, deadly crystalline shard flew through the window, impaling first Jade and then Tracy before getting stuck. Both girls gasped as they looked down to see themselves stabbed through the chest by a ghostly, ethereal speartip.
They looked at each other in fear and awe. There was no blood. There was only the whirring sound of energy spinning up, beginning to discharge and explode. Bolts of electricity began to emanate like tendrils from the glittering stone, caressing both Tracy and Jade.
Another, even larger shard erupted into existence beneath Brittany’s feet. It impaled her from head to toe, splaying her out like a puppet on a stake.
“Eeeeek!” she screamed, too terrified to move, suspended in midair. This was not how she’d dreamed it happening!
The nascent thrumming finally reached its apex as fierce bolts of energy began to lash out in earnest. All of the other girls screamed as they ran for the exit, not wanting to be stabbed through the torso, or god forbid, vertically through their entire body. But escape was impossible. Twisted spikes grew around them like jagged coral, cutting them as they tried to flee. Waves of heat and sparks radiated from the cage, almost willfully searing their flesh as their clothes and bodies began to burn. A collection of screams rose as if they were being punished for trying to escape their inevitable fate.
Brittany had made it to the center of the room before being impaled, splayed out like an animal on a spit roast. Except she wasn’t suffering at all.

“There are... two of you? Twins?” Professor Schulz blinked his eyes incredulously.
“Who’s this?” Jade asked.
“Nobody.”

“Maybe. Is that why I feel like such a total failure?” Tracy snarked.
“Hey!”

Tracy was back in an instant.
“Hey!” Tracy was seething. Her eyes glowed as she drew a fist.
“Shit! Sorry sorry sorry! I didn’t mean for it to hit that hard!” Jade apologized profusely.
Tracy relaxed. “I’m gonna get you back for that,” she declared darkly.
Jade gulped.
The two frenemies floated toward the more-or-less intact student dorms where they’d gotten dressed after the initial strike. Chapter 4 - Slim But Large, Busty and in Charge

“Whatever you say, twinsy. We both know that I was in much better shape than you before we merged. You should be thanking me,” Jade lectured.
“I miss the old Jade.”
“I don’t.”
“I’m gonna go dance and fuck some more. You wanna join me?” Tracy looked at her two pets. They were completely motionless now, fallen unconscious from the honor of touching Jade’s literally heart-stopping breasts.
“Nah, go ahead. I’ve danced my whole life,” Jade waved Tracy off.
“Someone turn the music up! I wanna hear ‘The Baddest Bitch’ playing as loud as possible on this shitty speaker system!” Tracy hovered back into the center of the room. Jade rolled her eyes, covered her ears, and went upstairs into the little bedroom where the owner slept. She still much preferred classical.
Which meant she missed the hubbub downstairs. Two female agents, dressed in black and dark shades, appeared in the bar and flashed their badges. It looked like a polished silver horse.
“You. Power down and come with us,” one agent instructed.
“Officers?” Tracy snarked. She’d already subdued all of the local police, as far as she and Jade knew anyway. “What seems to be the problem?”
“Please comply peacefully, or we will have to use force.”
One of them looked at the other. The other nodded, then turned back to Tracy. She removed her glasses, eyes as dark as a black hole that focused right at Tracy.
“As if!” Tracy cackled. “Come here, slave. You can suck on my toes before I make you beg me not to break you in half,” Tracy lowered her voice to one of her myriad of powers.
Neither agent moved.
“What!?” Tracy exclaimed. She tried to summon up that vile power that they’d taken from Adam, but the accompanying gross shudder down her spine never occurred.
But the agents weren’t without concern either.
“Why is she still floating!?” the mouthpiece asked.
“I’m... she’s nulled! I don’t know!”
Tracy clenched her fists, wielding an aura of golden fire. Her red and brown hair began to fly straight up from the intense flames.
“She’s... shifting!” The dark eyed one exclaimed. Raising her hands out as if pushing against an approaching wall, she grit her teeth. Large veins appeared in her arms and her face.
“The hell are you!?” Tracy gasped as she felt the flames go out. Then they reignited... but she faltered in midair before regaining her balance.
“I can’t null her! Too many!” the dark-eyed one said.
The other female agent seemed to double in muscle mass instantly, ripping out of her suit. Her arms, her thighs, her abs... everything was decked out in pure power that would put any professional bodybuilder to shame.
“Hold her as long as you can!” the hulking female ordered. She began to charge at the bobbling Tracy.
Tracy finally understood what was happening.
“I told you to come here and suck my toes,” she directed at the hulking one.
The agent’s furious line drive didn’t abate... but her aim was wholly refocused now. She was planning to charge and tackle Tracy out of the air, then put her in a sleeper hold until the threat was neutralized. Why had she ever wanted to do that? “No!” the dark eyed one screamed. She switched her focus once more. Her fellow agent shuddered and clutched her temples.

Before the hapless agent could decide, the literal muscle of the group began to wither away. All of those vascular muscles receded, leaving a husk of her former self. Just a normal, unpowered human female. Completely unremarkable.
Tracy flexed a single bicep. It curled up like a mountain, twice as tall as her head. She rotated her forearm and flexed once more.
“Not really my style,” Tracy clucked her tongue. “Can you turn that off for me?”
The dark-eyed agent acted like a pro. All of the footage was being recorded and sent to their central server at OPUS headquarters. But it couldn’t hurt to clarify everything she knew before her fate was ultimately sealed.
“Subject has multiple powers and feels like multiple people! I couldn’t null it all! I couldn’t...”
And then Tracy was upon her. The cruel multi-powered goddess placed her hands on the agent’s far smaller chest, give her a dismissive laugh, and then incinerated her to ash.
