Game of Thrones: The Ruler- Chapter 15: The Final Treasure

“Are these swords… special?” She asked.
Jon nodded and replied. “They are made of Valyrian steel.”
She frowned. “Valyrian steel?”
As a commoner, her knowledge of legends stretched only as far as dragons. The name meant nothing to her.
Jon explained, “It was a rare steel which was forged only in Valyria. It is said that such steel was created using dragon fire and some magical rituals.”
“When Valyria was destroyed, the knowledge to forge such blades vanished with it.”
Slyvia nodded slowly, recalling vague tales about the doomed magical city.
“Valyrian steel is lighter, stronger, and sharper than any steel in the world,” Jon explained. “It never dulls or chips away.”
“There is not more than a dozen Valyrian steel sword in the entire Westeros.”
He did not share the origin or names of the swords, choosing to keep Blackfyre and Dark Sister to himself.
Slyvia leaned forward slightly, studying the blades with awe, realizing they were far more than just beautiful weapons.
Jon set the swords aside and reached into the chest one last time.
His fingers brushed against a plain, metal bracelet. He pulled it out. It was unassuming, yet oddly striking bracelet.
The grey ripple of the bracelet indicated the presence of Valyrian steel in it but it also had a thread of shimmering purple material which Jon did not recognize.
As soon as he touched it, he felt a faint tug in his blood, a connection.
He assumed it was the dragon eggs causing the sensation and thought little more of it.
Maybe it belonged to Rhaegar. Maybe it held some sentimental value. This was what Jon thought. He slipped the bracelet onto his left wrist.
“Are we taking the gold with us?” Slyvia asked hesitantly. Carrying so much gold was a risky affair. Everywhere they would go, it would arouse suspicion.
Jon nodded in response.
“That is going to be difficult,” she said with a frown.
“I will figure something out,” Jon said. “Let us move everything inside the tower for now. We will spend the night there.”
Together, they moved the two gold-filled chests and the smaller one with the dragon eggs into the ruined tower. Inside, they laid out rugs and cloaks to form makeshift beds. Then Jon turned his attention to the coins.
Counting was impossible, but by rough estimation, each chest held about two hundred and fifty thousand gold coins. Half a million gold coins in total.
Slyvia had been right. Carrying such wealth openly was asking for trouble. Even a single chest would draw attention, and suspicion would follow.
He considered burying the coins again and retrieving them later, when he had a better base of power. But he rejected the idea.
He needed the gold now. He had originally planned to travel to Essos, find work as a mercenary, and then slowly build wealth. He would have stolen from corrupt lords and merchants if necessary. But now, with this windfall, that plan was obsolete. He did not want to waste few months raising gold for what he had in mind.
As Jon leaned back against the wall, contemplating his next move, he suddenly felt a stronger tug in his blood. This time, he was far from the dragon eggs.
He looked down at the bracelet. Realisation dawned upon him.
Jon focused on it, and without understanding why, he drew his knife and made a shallow cut on his palm. Blood dripped down his wrist and touched the bracelet.
“What are you doing?!” Slyvia almost screamed in shock.
Jon did not answer. As the blood touched the bracelet, he felt his mind pulled inward.
In the next moment, his consciousness peeked inside a perfectly square room. Twenty feet on each side. A dull, grey sheen covered the walls and floor. It was empty.
Jon blinked in disbelief, then laughed aloud. He did not need a second to recognize what this was. A storage space.
Something he had only read about in fantasy stories from his previous life.
Slyvia grew more anxious seeing him laugh like this. “What happened to you? Are you alright?”
Still smiling, Jon snapped back to reality. Without a word, he walked over to one of the chests and placed his hand on it. It vanished in an instant.
“What—?! Where did it go?!” Slyvia gasped in fright. Receiving no answers from Jon, she was in deep anxiety.
“This,” he held up the bracelet with a smile on his face, “is a storage device.”
“Storage device…?” Slyvia echoed, confused.
“It holds objects inside itself. Like a magical vault,” he explained.
He walked to the second chest and touched it. It vanished too.
He then willed the first chest to reappear and it appeared instantly before him. He touched it again, and it disappeared.
Slyvia sat down, overwhelmed by what she was witnessing.
“You mean… all the gold is now inside that bracelet?” She mumbled in disbelief.
Jon nodded, finally calming down. “And no one will ever know I carry a fortune with me.”
Slyvia leaned back against the cold stone wall, stunned into silence.
It was a nearly sleepless night for both of them. Thoughts whirled in their minds.
Jon woke early in the morning as he approached the Weirwood tree. He realised that whatever vision, he had been able to see, it was somehow connected to this Weirwood tree.
The tree with the song of ice and fire.
Jon stood in front of the tree for quite some time as he tried to feel the earlier connection but it was all for naught. He felt nothing.
He could only sigh in frustration.
Jon moved towards the tree and leaned near its root. With a small dagger, he slit a small portion of the bark from the tree. He would be planting this Weirdwood tree from where he would begin his conquest.
[I looked up and Weirwood trees have no fruits and no flowers. There is no mention of the tree is planted from one place to another. So, I have decided to go with this mehod.]
Casting a final look at the Weirwood tree and the tower of Joy, Jon and Slyvia climbed into their carriage once again. But this time they were not empty handed. The bracelet had Valyrian steel swords, dragon eggs and gold.
They set course for Sunspear, but their true journey was only beginning.
