Get in the water was a TikTok song a couple years ago and legit it became an Audio I could not get out of my freaking head and that was before knowing what epic was 🤣🤣 legit would walk around the house just saying “get in the water” over and over again 🤣🤣🤣

So here is my thoughts on the apology to poseidon back in ocean saga. Poseidon was never going to let Odysseus go, he was never going to show him mercy, he drives that point in by saying "the line between naivety and hopefulness is almost invisible, so close your heart, the world is dark and ruthlessness is mercy". He is outright telling Odysseus that he was naive to think the apology was actually going to work. Odysseus could have made the worlds best apology and it still wouldnt have made a difference.

also! in mythology, scylla and charybdis are actually on opposite sides of a narrow straight that sailors needed to pass. the captains would need to make a choice to get close to one of the monsters to avoid the other and while theres no “correct” choice per say, scylla would take 6 men, one for each head, while charybdis would bring down entire fleets. odysseus knew which to choose in the odyssey due to circe’s advice, ironic because circe made scylla into the monster she is!

i absolutely do not feel for calypso at all. in the odyssey, (i believe, correct me if im wrong) she would compel him to sleep with her at night and he longed for his wife during the day. obviously we have a very modern take on these stories now but with that knowledge and the modern outlook, i physically cannot feel bad for her at all
