Re: English language logic My sweet summer child, English is child's play compared to French. Every single *thing* has a gender, and you better know them by heart because there is NO logic to them. A chair is feminine - "Une chaise" A bench is masculine "Un banc" Beer is feminine Wine is masculine Water is feminine Fire is masculine Air is masculine Earth is feminine Computer is masculine Television is feminine I could go on and on and on, I don't know how some people learn French as a second language, must be a nightmare.
