Fun fact, pirate society actually had same-sex civil unions, for sharing properly, inheritance, basically being next of kin etc. called matelotage. Some were platonic, some not.

In the "never left" ofmd podcast they did a huge multipart series on why they think BPD matches Ed perfectly. I'm not personally super knowledgeable on it but one of the regular hosts has it and they had two bonus hosts that also have it. In general super interesting podcast that goes into different topics or themes, but don't check it out before you finish since it's fully spoiled.

The series was originally pitched for 3 seasons. We got 2 then it was canceled. The creator of the show is David Jenkins and he is pretty vocal on Twitter about how much he loves the show and wants it to continue, but I don't know if he will actually be able to get it picked up for another season. We can all hope.

My favorite scene in season 1 was the moonlight scene in episode 5 so the callback in this episode made me so happy, and we finally got the kiss we wanted back then. Ed and Stede make my gay heart very happy and the hope for a season 3 is still there. If it never happens I hope Jenkins at least writes the ending for our boys so we can read it and get some closure.

I think a big boat would be hard to fish from because A. a giant boat would scare a lot of them away and B. If they are fishing from rods, it would be hard to feel a fish biting from way up there not to mention how much a big boat sways and would give you false alarms.

In terms of the curse, I feel like there's a lot of murky lines between reality and fantasy in this show (first example being buttons talking to birds in season 1). In season two when buttons turns into a seagull the only witness is edd who is still a little mixed up from the gravey basket, so we can't know for sure if it actually happened or if it was a case of unreliable narrator. Then the whole suit thing.... I think there's no right answer and I kinda love it.

Ahh, I love that revisited moonlight scene so much! Fans of the show will never give up hope for a Season 3, or a film, but it won't be with Max, that's for sure. It may well never happen at this point.
