I think Dana's uniform on the cover is of a mechanic/service station worker based on some other pieces of art featuring Dana working on Tommy's car. But time will tell.

Gonna guess whatever Dana told him could get him in REALLY bad trouble.

Whatever he told him there must be some kind of taboo to it. I'm guessing someone found out he was gay, or worse, was caught doing something gay. Maybe when he was in the Army? Since he has a Korean era uniform on the cover. If so, he would've gotten discharged dishonorably for homosexual perversion. Someone might have found out then Dana got beat up pretty badly and it went from there.
