Shading Styles

That's exactly what I was thinking! Maybe 6 for a normal look, and then add more detail and expressive lighting for emotional shots. It's just lately there's never been a consistent style or minimal amount of layers I've stuck to. It was constantly something different every time. Like "guessing" or something like that. So I would end up taking little time on this page and then taking TOO much time on another for some reason. lol

I love 13 layers. It gives off this film-animination feel to it. But it's way too much work for a comic. It's gorgeous to look at! I think 7 is enough. BUT! You could do 13 layers for very special panels if it helps convey what you want for the scene more clearly than if you used 7. (Like a using 13 layers on Dana because his future fox bf is looking at him for the first time.)
