I'm going away for a few days so thought I'd drop in a quick development update before I go quiet for a while.
Work on Chapter 3 is still progressing with now only two more conversational scenes and then a little hook to end the chapter with to pose, render and postwork. Once that's done I'll work on the music and audio, get it proofread and then it'll be time to start promoting and releasing. Eek!
Chapter 3 is currently at around 450 renders so I expect it'll be closer to 600 by the time it is done. That will bring the whole thing to about 2000 renders so far.
I tried my hand at some animation again, but my god I just cannot get a grip on it. I won't give up though. But until my animations stop looking like absolute ass, I just hope players are satisfied with half-decent looking static renders instead.
Writing wise, I'm still writing the huge scene that I mentioned in the previous update, partially because it's a huge scene with a lot of optional content, and partially because I've slowed down the writing because I was hitting a little burnout. Working on Origin Story in every free minute of my life - even my work lunch breaks - was getting a bit too much and I'm so far ahead in writing that I feel fine pumping the brakes on that side of it a bit. Instead I've filled up my lunch breaks playing some other AVNs and as a result I've discovered Eternum, Race of Life, Ripples, Pale Carnations and Bare Witness, which are all incredible but certainly giving me doubts that Origin Story will cut the mustard. My anxiety!
Anyway, above pic is a render from the scene previously mentioned in the last dev update (and previous behind the scenes post). I love this scene so much, and I hope players do too, but you've got to make a certain choice that not everyone might like to get it.
Anyways, peace!
