Behind The Scenes: Designing Evelyn's Bedroom
🕑 Added 2023-10-18 19:36:35 +0000 UTCHi all,
Time for something different today. Here's a little bit of a behind the scenes sneak peek of environment design and my thought process behind it.
I've got a pretty substantial scene in Evelyn's bedroom coming up soon (no you perv, not that kind of scene) so it was time to get designing the environment - which I've been doing the past couple of evenings.
I'm not a huge fan of using bog standard assets with no customization. I prefer to re-texture and decorate my environment assets to not only make them stand out from a lot of AVNs whose devs often can't be bothered with this kind of thing, but also to inform the character further. After all, a bedroom, is the place that will give you the most you need to know about it's owner.
Some of the objects in her room are purposefully placed and relevant to the first scene that will take place in it (most of these are not included in my screenshots to avoid spoilers). Some objects are just there to flesh out backstory, some are fun little references to other things mentioned earlier in the game or some are to give a sense of what the character in question is about.
Anyway, here you go. 3 before and after images of the environment.
