Unbroken futureproofing builds
🕑 Added 2025-01-07 01:55:54 +0000 UTCHey all, just sneaking a new image out on this post. Catching attention cause the below is important, you won't be able to play Part 8 without using the builds below.
Now on to business. About the time this post goes live I'll have sent off my approval build for Steam, which any dev will tell you means a few weeks of waiting and anxiety. But now that it's off I wanted to put a few new builds up that will get you fully prepped and ready for the Steam release and the release of Part 8 as well. There are two different versions, I'll give all the info for them with their respective links.
To save your transfer saves you have to hit the end of the game at which point the ability to save your game for the next version will appear.
You will need to use one of these links to ensure your saves transfer to Part 8 properly. These builds also contain the gallery and named saves that have long been requested. They will not contain the full soundtrack as well as a few surprises I cooked up for the Steam edition.
New Version:
This build is recommended for new players or those who want saves compatible with the Steam Version as well as Part 8. This build is on an entirely new executable and therefore won't see old saves from the previous versions. You can technically manually move saves between the versions but I can't guarantee compatibility on that. Starting over sucks, but it does guarantee the most smooth experience going forward.
Old Version:
This build is the final update to the previous Part Seven builds, recommended for players who just want to prep up their Part 8 saves. This build is made with the old executable so all saves will be there. It will transfer to Part 8 just like previous build so both versions will work for that. A small warning, I had to upgrade my Renpy edition to make the new code function and in testing there were some errors. I did my best to iron out the main ones, but a few could have snuck through. If the transfer save screen pops up as normal then you're totally fine and ready for Part 8 if it spits an error that means a variable snuck out somewhere. Do me a favour if one does and either contact me here or in the bug channel on my Discord so I can get it ironed out.
Anyway sorry for the giant wall of text, just wanted to get these out and make sure everybody had time to get prepared for Part 8.

It would be OK for me if she doesnot have a dedicated path that she gets constant content each chapter like main girls do but still an ending with her alone I would like that ๐

Sorry! Just saw this. To answer both your questions Katie Kafton will have more scenes going forward but I don't really consider it a dedicated path like the MGs have. As for SG endings all of them will have some sort of potential ending, the nature of which will change depending on the character.

That's understandable. I didn't know they were more complicated. I just know in some markets Steam does not offer adult content like in Germany, while GOG does.

Part 8 will come first here, then Steam in the future as Part of "Book 2" which will contain all the rest of the game parts 8-12. Though I'll hold a bit on that until I have enough content to justify it being on Steam.

GOG might be an option in the future, as I hear it they're a bit more complicated to work with on the back end so that's a future me problem.

The back-to-back Holiday weeks were excellent and much needed for the mind and body to recover and rejuvenate while it lasted. I hope everyone had a wonderful time as well! ๐ Now, the return to the normal schedule. Normalcy ๐. The render of our girls looks delicious ๐! Ohhhh, but I love surprises. Lucky Steam players. Hmm ๐ค... As for the build, I guess I'll go with Old, and if it doesn't work, then I'll just download the New and restart. Edited The Old build works, but... the gallery is locked, which means I'm going to have to replay to unlock them. Whelp, I might as well download the New one and replay that build and just redo all my choices and saves (I even have named saves this time ๐) and continue with that build going forward. I'll keep a copy of the older version of Unbroken Pt 7 (no gallery) for sentimental reasons.

Stew, thanks for putting in the effort to make the transition painless for everyone. Most devs just say Sorry, your saves are broken, start over. I will replay many times but being able to do it when I want is a bonus. Thanks again!

No, once full release is out they'll match. Goal is for anybody regardless of method of support to have the same experience. So no difference

Love the game/vn, somehow I will suffer through it all again. You know seeing those girls again really is hard on the eyes. Will there be a difference in patreon/stream versions? I have no intention of changing, just wondering.
