This episode doesnt seem to be in the Kaiju no.8 collection on Patreon, had a hard time finding it :S

Completely agree, but there's no way she's not familiar with at least 1 of her songs. Aurora is one of the biggest female vocalists on Earth.

Jessie

as a manga reader it’s gonna be getting way more dope but s2 is when it’s gonna start getting crazy

The song at the end is sang by an artist named Aurora. She is very talented, you should check out some of her other music!

Flexie, your anime trauma is showing with your reaction to the ending 😂

ShadowWind 0825

The song is by Aurora. I highly recommend her if you are unfamiliar. She is amazing

Sage Flugel

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed it.

Gen seems like he'll be a great character, the contrast between his off-duty and in-combat personalities is really fun.

I also believe Hideaki Anno has started working officially for Production I.G. Forgot which position he got but I know it’s a high one.

Sean Dame

Yeah, they dropped a special episode last week, "Hoshina's Day Off" there is no major plot movement in the EP but kinda fun with additional character development.

Narumi is such a badass and he is cool 😎 🔥

One thing that stood out to me this episode was the music. Season 1 had some great OST, but they still kicked it up a notch. That score when the forces are deploying, and the one at the end of the episode where Kikoru is leaving her house and Isao is entering the lab. Ah! Perfection! The ED this episode (OP next episode?) is sung by Aurora, a Norwegian singer who is basically a nature spirit :D I love her so much, she's an amazing person and an amazing singer. Check her out, I think you'll like a lot of her stuff.

The whole kaiju emergence sequence is almost a direct 1 to 1 homage to Shin Godzilla its insane. I was watching this thinking that the director must really love hideaki anno and yup its 100% in anno's style

Has the animation changed somehow? It seems to me that the first series used brighter colors, but here it seems faded and ironed out. And I don't remember their suits being such loose bags either.
