Barely Working is Getting More Content
🕑 Added 2024-11-15 05:56:03 +0000 UTCHi everyone! We're at an awkward phase with Barely Working.
The speed of which people are asking for more content is much higher than we can produce. After being consulted by a much smarter business man than I, we have been transitioning to a different approach.
We have hired more artists. Our new goal is to have our lead artist, BiteBox64, train them to be able to draw lines up to his standard. Then, with his guidance and approval, the new artists would be able to draw at a much faster rate than just 1 person working at a time.
Zen has been our artist for coloring Barely Working pictures and he will be in charge of teaching and approving the coloring phase for the new artists. He is also the main person in charge of designing outfits so he will work with the artists to draw more outfits as well.
We are not expecting a drop in quality since BiteBox and Zen will correct every picture before it gets finished. We just need to spend some time training the new people.
Our long-term goal has changed. Originally I was going to make this a short 5 level game. If things go well, we would be able to produce many new levels and many new outfits. I'm starting to think the Steam release could happen Q1 next year as Early Access, but we'll see how it goes.
Take a look at the attached pictures. Those are blind art tests from the new talent. I think they did a great job. With BiteBox's guidance, they should be able to draw poses similar to how he does.
Also, side note, I was the only writer for Barely Working. I'm pretty busy myself so I hired writers to help. I'll make sure the game stays freeuse-y and also comedic.
Barely Working Warehouse Safety outfit level will be released next week. I think it's a really funny level.
Queen's Brothel update will be released in 1-2 weeks. I really like this next quest we're releasing. I think Krev wrote the story and the jokes very well.
3D Game will be on pause until Barely Working is sorted out.

No animations. I put up job postings for 2D animators and i get no hits. I think I'm giving up on traditional frame-by-frame animation. Will probably make my 3D games animated only.
