Status Update - 2/27/24

Hello everyone. Sorry for the wait. Queen's Brothel has had a fairly large gap between releases, but the wait for the next quest is almost over. We are working on large main story quests to wrap up Queen's Brothel and they take a bit more time than the simple side quests we were doing before.
I am expecting to release 6 more quests for Queen's Brothel and then consider the game done. Spending more time on Queen's Brothel will only hold us back from trying new things and making new games. I've worked on Queen's Brothel since 2017 and have enjoyed every second of it, but it's time to move on. Assuming these quests take longer than the other ones we make, it should still take us most of this year to complete them.
If you guys remember me talking about it, I did mention that I have a prequel planned for Queen's Brothel that would be about Queen only. Perhaps that would be our next move after we are done with Queen's Brothel.
Barely Working
Today, I have released version 6.2.0 which adds simple image modding support. Modders are now able to change any image in the game with their own as long as they put the image files in a specific directory. Information for modding can be found here:
We have also raised the quality of all the images in the game. I had previously used 720 height images and am now using 1080 height images. The previous compression was set to 0.7 quality and it is now set to 0.8 quality. With both of these changes, the size of the game has increased slightly, but the quality of the images have gone up. Especially the meeting level which has a lot of dark colors and gradients. Gradients, when compressed, leave artifacts. With the increased quality, those artifacts are harder to notice.
I have made this image change because I have always planned to increase the quality of the game as we got further into development. I prioritized the web version of the game so I built it at 720p and compressed the images heavily. It helps because the game boots up very quickly. Going forward, I will not be optimizing for web.

Meeting Bunny Outfit
The team has started working on the next outfit for the meeting level. Remember, outfits change all of the dialogue and it is like a whole new level. I highly recommend playing through them if you have not before.
We chose this outfit for many reasons. For one, I wanted to try to have Candace wearing an outfit that she does not actually remove. When you "remove" her clothes, she is instead pulling her clothes to the side, revealing her assets. Another reason why we chose this outfit is because she looks like a show girl and it is very fitting for this level as she is giving a presentation. We had many other outfit ideas, but this one made the most sense for this level. I can't wait to show you guys our plans for the warehouse level in a future status update.

I will be attending the Game Developer Conference this year, in about 3 weeks. I'm not expecting me to meet other adult game developers, but that's the beauty of networking. You never know who is playing adult games and who has their eye on the adult game market. It would be very fun to talk to other developers and get their opinion and maybe make a few friends! I am fortunate enough to live near the conference so it doesn't hurt to try to meet other like-minded developers.

Not for modders. I can of course do it for myself within the game engine. That's what Queen's Brothel does.

Oh no, game engines don't usually accept gifs like that. You would need to turn it into a png sequence and then use an AnimatedSprite node instead. Like we can't just put in a gif like it was a webpage

Sorry! We cannot. I do not have any 2D animators on the team that can work at that high of a detail level.

Yes we have two levels planned after that and then i would like to release the game.

My apologies if this has been answered already. Are there any other levels aside from the warehouse planned? I enjoy the kinks explored in the game and it'd be awesome if there was more planned in the future.

What if you make a quest in queens brothel with the barely working as one of the last quests of the game. I think it'll be fun and also that way you can do like an ad for the barely working game for people who only played the queens brothel. Im not saying that the game needs it, both are really good games. I can easily say it's one of the best games in the market. But it would be funny to see both games together. just saying
