They are, some gems have different sizes for different purposes.

My favourites are obsidian, emerald, ruby and sapphire. Also i noticed, but it could be my mistake, that (in the first row) the first two gems/stones are much larger and taller than the others. Same (in the second row) for the second gem/stone.

I’m liking the first, second, and third ones on the bottom row (the red, orange, and black).

They all look good, my favorite is the purple one, but I'm also fond of the coal? The middle one on the second row.
