"Take a good look, boys." I said as I stood over the hill, overlooking a small detachment of Duskguard, "One day, you will be in charge of this."
"Wow...." Riktor said, "That is a lot...."
"Yea...." Sylas said
It was like a small black carpet laid over the field, stretching across several hundred meters. There were only a couple of thousand ready to mobilize and head towards battle. I heard that Jaehaerys went and met with Barth, trying to negotiate some kind of deal, but failed.
Jaehaerys will rather have peace, and he even mentioned having some kind of law that will allow the worship of the Trinity. I really don't care if he passes that law, and I am well aware that despite his efforts, those who decided to side with the Septon will do what it take to destroy the Trinity.
The plan was to have House Targaryen meet them in battle and if they don't take them down in a certain amount of time, I will have Maegor rush them with an overwhelming amount of power. The Cruel King was too enthusiastic about the matter, even barking commands at me to allow him to march already.
The little shit thinks too highly of himself.
I looked at the boys, they were wearing a black uniform each, looking at the detachment from where we stood.
"What do you think?" I asked them
Riktor looked at me, "About what?"
I gestured at the Duskguard, "This."
Sylas nodded, "We'll command them one day?" He asked me, "I thought Ser Jon was the leader."
"He is the Lord-Commander." I said, "He oversees them, yes. But I am the one who calls the shots. And soon, the two of you will. Riktor, you will be the Head of House Drakkengard and therefore, House Riversbane and the Duskguard will be yours to command. Sylas will help you command as well. The two of you, my sons, will be in control of the most powerful army in the world."
Riktor looked down, "This...." He said, "It is quite the burden."
"A burden only a Son of Drakken can handle." I said seriously, "Take it in. You have not seen the Duskguard do battle yet, this is merely them preparing."
"As a commander, do I have to stand behind them and watch them fight for me?" He asked me
I shrugged, "I guess so." I said, "If you tell them to go left, they will do that. If you tell them to lay a castle to siege, they will keep that castle locked up for years. Riverrun is still under siege, haha....."
He scratched his cheek, "What if I want to fight with them?"
I smirked, "Then they will watch your back no matter what." I said, "If you, my son, want to lay chaos in the battlefield yourself, you are free to do so."
"I want that too." Sylas said, "I do not want to be so cowardly."
I crouched down and patted his shoulder, "Of course." I said, "This will be a glimpse of what a real war is like, my sons. I want you to understand that this....this is what House Drakkengard is. We are not a House that sits by when a War occurs. We start the wars, we control them, we end them. War...that is our entire existence. Do you understand?"
Riktor looked at me, "Yes, Father...."
"Good." I straightened up, "When the two of you are grown and capable of fighting on the battlefield, I expect for you to be in said battlefield.....killing our enemies....and destroying everything in your path."
Sylas nodded, "Yes."
"Your Draconic Beasts are mere tools to aid you." I said, "If you choose to use them as your companions in your path for war and glory, then so be it. But the real power comes from you, the Sons of Drakken."
Riktor nodded, "Right."
I smiled, "Well then...." I said, "Let us wait...."
"For the Duskguard to move out...."

(Third Person POV)
Jaehaerys walked inside the Queen's Chambers, seeing that Daella was sitting down next to Daenerys as Alysanne was walking up to them with cups of tea in her hands.
"My Wife." He said as he stopped and looked at Alysanne, "How are things here?"
Alysanne looked at him, "Oh, Jaehaerys." She said with a smile, "It is good."
The King noticed that there was a bit of light in Alysanne's eyes, something that was missing ever since Silverwing had died. Something told him that the fact that Daenerys was back with them cheered the Queen up.
Jaehaerys then looked at Daella, who was reading a book with Daenerys, "Daella."
Daella looked up, "Y-Yes?"
"And you? How are you feeling?" He asked, "You are with child, Aemon's child."
Daella nodded, "Yes...." She said, "I am Father. I feel fine, thank you for asking."
Jaehaerys walked up to her, offering his hand to her, "Come."
Daenerys looked at this, "What is wrong?"
"Nothing." Jaehaerys said as he gestured at Daella, "Come, my daughter."
Daella gave the book to Daenerys and took her father's hand as she was pulled up, "Yes?" She said softly, "Did I do something wrong?"
Jaehaerys sighed and patted her cheek, "No, my child." He said, "You did nothing wrong."
Daella looked at him with a surprised look, "Then....why...?"
"I only ask one thing from you." The King told her, "To make Aemon forget the pain of losing Aenys. I want you to give him a son, my daughter.....that is all I ask......"
Daella nodded, "I.....I will try....."
"These are going to be tough times." Jaehaerys said with a serious tone, "You will be Queen one day...should this war take my life...."
"Jaehaerys!" Alysanne said, "Do not speak that way!"
"I have a question." Daenerys spoke up
They all looked at her, she had a frown on her face.
"What is it?" Jaehaerys said
"Rhaenys and Rhaella are not Daella's daughters?" She asked, "I thought she was married with Aemon."
"No, Daenerys....." Alysanne cleared her throat, "You remember Lady Jocelyn? She was Aemon's age...she once visited King's Landing as a little girl."
Daenerys shook her head, "I....." She said, "No, I am sorry."
"She was your aunt." Jaehaerys said, "She was Aemon's wife....but she passed away....."
"Oh." Daenerys said softly, "That is.....sad...."
"But Daella is Aemon's wife now." Jaehaerys patted her shoulder, "And she will be the Queen one day..."
"That is nice." Daenerys said with a smile, "Wait....you told me I had three brothers....and I only met two.....Aemon and Little Baelon.....where is the third? I know I have not met my two missing sisters but where is my brother?"
Jaehaerys and Alysanne looked at each other, not knowing what to respond to that.
As in cue, the doors opened and Aemon burst in, "Father!!" He exclaimed, "This is serious!!"
Jaehaerys looked at him, "What is it?"
"Aemon...." Daella said softly, "What is wrong?"
Aemon was sweating slightly, "We received a box...." He said, "W-With a hand in it......"
"It is apparently Vaegon's!!!"
