"I don't know what I expected." Jaehaerys said, "But.....at the very least, he is satisfied."
Alysanne sighed, "Poor Maegelle..." She said, "She was so happy to be here, hoping there would be no incident."
"It cannot be helped now." Jaehaerys said seriously
They were sitting down at the table, in the King's chambers, discussing the incident that had happened. To prevent a potential conflict, Jaehaerys had to make sure that Drakken was satisfied. He, in fact, handed over Braxton Beesbury to Drakken like he was told..
Despite protests from the Houses that the Knights belonged to, Jaehaerys was firm about the matter. They eventually accepted the fact that Drakken was more than dangerous, only shutting their mouths when Jaehaerys reminded them of Driftmark and Sharp Point.
Little did the King and Queen know that this incident would inch the Houses closer to their breaking point.
"I admit....." Alysanne said softly, "Our daughters do look happy with him...."
"That is very surprising." Jaehaerys nodded, "And it looks genuine. To think that Saera would have a motherly instinct to her....being protective of those two boys."
The door opened and Vaegon walked in to them, "Mother, Father." He said, "I am here to speak to you about this situation."
"What is there to discuss?" Jaehaerys asked
"I cannot help but think that this entire premise of false peace is but a ruse!" Vaegon said as he paced back and forth, "What is there to be done? We cannot just bend over and take what he gives us!"
Jaehaerys sighed, "Twice."
Vaegon stopped and looked at him, "Huh?"
"Twice we have schemed against him." The King told his son, "The First, the Sword.....while it was his trick, a way to entertain himself....we still committed to it.....and the Second....his woman got killed for it....by all rights, we should be dead. All of us....King's Landing should be a pile of rubble...."
"And yet we aren't." Vaegon said
"That's the point, Vaegon." Alysanne said, "There is something else at play, it is quite obvious. Drakken has plans for everyone and everything. The reason why he hasn't killed us is because he plans for us to witness what he has planned."
"Daranne Drakkengard." Jaehaerys said, "An unfortunate casualty, one that I did not plan for. Tyland's daughter did not deserve that and because of what happened, House Lannister has been rather distant to the Crown. The only reason they keep the trading routes is because House Drakkengard told them to, still benefiting greatly from it."
"What does that have to do-" Vaegon started
"Drakken is the most dangerous being in the Realm...." Alysanne said, "No....the world...that much is true. And all we have done against him was for the sake of our Family and for the sake of the Realm....to protect everything and everyone. If we can keep him retrained, even for a couple more years, no matter what it takes....so long as we can keep our dignity, we'll do it..."
"Your sister...." Jaehaerys told him, "She's the reason all of this is possible. Maegelle has kept him restrained for so long.....but Saera.....I suggest you show her respect because Drakken cares for her as much as he does Maegelle.....she's the one you should worry about. The Riverlands....House Frey.....House Tully....that was all her."
"Tch...!" Vaegon said, "Fine.....but there is something else....."
"What is it?" Alysanne asked
"Alyssa....Viserra...." Vaegon began to pace back and forth, "Something is not right.....Baelon too....."
"What do you mean?" Jaehaerys asked
"Alyssa and Viserra are hiding something.....and Baelon is covering for them! Or at least Alyssa..." Vaegon said, "I cannot shake this feeling off! When Mother lost her dragon and was bedridden....Alyssa and Viserra were exchanging strange glances...!"
"What are you saying?" Alysanne frowned, "Vaegon, speak plainly."
"Septon Barth momentarily suspected Alyssa of stealing the eggs, right?" Vaegon looked at them, "What if he was right?"
"You cannot be serious." Jaehaerys said, "She is your sister! She is a princess, why would she do that? Why would she hand eggs to the Trinity? She hates Drakken as much as everyone else in this room."
"I don't know..." Vaegon said
"And Viserra, what do you mean about her?" Alysanne asked, "She is a girl, about to be Ten and Four."
Vaegon shook his head, "I don't know." He said, "I will investigate further. But keep your eyes on those two."
"Trust me on this."
***************
"My sweet sweet boys...." Saera said as he hugged both Riktor and Sylas, "I am glad that those filth were punished~"
Riktor was looking away with a frown, "There's no need for hugging...."
"I am fine...." Sylas said as well, his face pressed against her chest
Mya was standing in front of them, "Hm." She said, "To think that you of all people would be so warm to them."
Saera looked at her, patting Riktor's head, "They're My Love's sons." She said with a smile, "Of course, my affection would extend to them."
"Focus on the kid you'll pop out." Drakken said as he was sitting down on the chair, "Obsessing over my sons..."
Saera let go of the boys, "You...." She frowned, "Is it so wrong for me to accept them? For them to accept me? I care for them! I vouched for them! I defended them!"
"I appreciate that, truly...." Mya said, "Thank you, Princess."
Drakken was scowling, "Whatever."
The door to the chambers opened, and Maegelle walked in, "Hello." She said, "Vaella has been put to sleep, are the boys alright?"
She walked over to them as they stepped away from Saera, who was sitting down on the couch. She then leaned down and kissed each of them in the cheek, patting Sylas's head while the two were frowning seriously.
"They're fine." Mya said, "But it appears that they are serious. Insulting us is not something they take likely."
Riktor crossed his arms, "Damn right."
"I hate them." Sylas said seriously
Saera blushed slightly, "Oh, my Sylas~" She hugged him again, "You got mad because they insulted me, right? I will gift you all the clothes you desire~ Just ask me how you like them, we are in the Capital, I'll ask my Father for them."
"My Grandsire is Lord Lannister." Sylas said, "He'll give me the clothes I want."
"Ehhh....?" Saera said, "Let Mama Saera spoil you...."
"Let him be." Drakken said, "He needs his sleep."
Maegelle cleared his throat and stepped closer to Mya, "L-Lady Mya..." She said, "C-Can I...?"
Mya chuckled, "He's all yours."
Maegelle nodded, "Thank you." she said before walking over to Drakken, "D-Drakken.....I.....Vaella is asleep...."
Drakken stood up, "Very well." He said while grabbing her hand and walking past her, pulling her along, "Mya, Saera, put the boys to sleep."
"Maegelle and I will be alone."
