[Maidenpool, A Week Later]
Both Aemon and Baelon dismounted their dragons outside the castle, looking around to see that there was movement everywhere. Soldiers were moving about, mobilizing and getting supplies ready to ride out.
"What in the hells is going on?" Baelon scowled
"Word has reached that Lord Mooton is dead. His son took the Seat and is now declaring War against House Drakkengard." Aemon said, "He sent a letter to King's Landing, requesting aid. It is a foolish thing to do, but Father wants us to find out what is going on."
"The presence of Balerion is sure to draw attention." Baelon said as he looked around, "No doubt about it."
"I know." Aemon said as they both began to walk towards the castle, "Be prepared, this young lord might be fired up."
Baelon nodded, "Yes." He said, "Over the past few weeks, The Riverlands have had tensions. Something must have happened with Drakken and the Riverlords."
As they approached the castle, the guards were acknowledging them.
"Princes!" one of them said, "The Young Lord is expecting you."
Aemon nodded, "Yes." He said, "Take us to him."
After several minutes, the two were led by the guards inside the Castle. Both Baelon and Aemon felt the tense atmosphere in the castle, several servants were scurrying about, trying not to make any direct eye contact with them. Baelon noticed that some of the Noble family members were not visible, which he found oddly strange.
As they reached the main hall, Baelon looked around and saw that there were several soldiers already posted there.
"Hm...." He said as they both stepped to the center
"Where is he?" Aemon asked as he looked at the guards, "The Young Lord."
"Oh." a voice said, "Yea, he's dead."
They felt a cold chill run down their spine and they widened their eyes to see that Drakken manifested out of thin air, sitting on the wooden throne that was in the center of the hall. He was slouching down on the throne, holding a sack in his hand as he gave them both a smirk.
"D-Drakken!" Baelon exclaimed, "What in the hells is goin-"
All of the soldiers drew their swords and pointed them at the Princes, prompting both Aemon and Baelon to draw their own swords in alarm.
Drakken raised his free hand, "Easy." He said, "We're not killing them. Not now, at least. You see, I have plans for these two."
The soldiers slowly brought their weapons down and stepped back as Aemon and Baelon eased their posture, lowering their blades as well.
"What is the meaning of this, Drakken?" Aemon scowled, "Where is Lord Mooton?"
"Well, both of them are dead." Drakken tossed the sack at their feet, "The Father defied me when I gathered the Riverlords and gave them an ultimatum. And after I killed him, the son decided to raise his arms against me. Such boldness...."
Baelon looked at the sack, not needing to look inside it to know what was in there.
He then looked up at Drakken, "What the hell are you playing at, Drakken?" He asked, "For what reason do you do all of this?"
"You imbeciles are rather annoying. Always yelling and bitching." Drakken said with a scowl, "Do yourself a favor and shut the fuck up. See, I decided to take over Maidenpool without much of an issue....and I had 'Lord Mooton' request aid. I thought they were going to send a detachment of Faith fanatics but they sent two Dragonriders, so that plan was....Moot..."
"You did not expect us?" Aemon asked
"No." Drakken said, "I was going to slaughter the Knights that were sent and send their heads back to the Capital as a message to all the Houses who dare think of opposing the Trinity. See, they have been conspiring to overthrow my religion.....but....well, now that you're here, I don't see a point in doing all of this. So I'm going to gather the able-bodied men here and march them down to the border of the Crownlands and surround the entire region in a wide-span siege. Shutting down all roads that lead inside from all other regions."
Baelon narrowed his eyes, "That leaves the Blackwater and the sky open." He said, "What would you try to gain from this?"
"Did you not hear what I said?" Drakken said, "Sending a message. If the Faith wishes to dismantle the Trinity, it is obvious that resistance is warranted. But my resistance is complete and total devastation. I will butcher any who dares defy me, no matter what. Fuck peace, fuck the Faith of The Seven. There is only one god that walks these lands and that god is me."
"I should have known that was your intention back at the Feast." Aemon said, "All you care about is to convert people to your religion and add more power to your Duskguard."
"Smarter than you act, Aemon." Drakken said with a chuckle as he leaned forward, "Within a few years, the Trinity will be a major force in Westeros. The North......The Iron Islands....they will be conquered."
"You are mad." Baelon said, "You cannot hope to-"
"I don't need to hope." Drakken said with a chuckle, "I will do it. Unless......"
"Unless what?" Baelon asked, "Are you proposing another deal with us? Is that all you know how to do?"
"Well...." Drakken leaned back, "Some Houses of each region convert."
"What?" Aemon asked, "You want them to convert?"
"The Stormlands are providing a good amount of lowborn followers." Drakken said with a smirk, "But I want Highborns with actual influence and power. Their men, their military....I wish to add them to the Duskguard without the hassle of forcing them true my War Sorcery."
"And by having multiple Houses to convert, you can do you just that." Baelon said, "It is a stupid thing to ask. You are asking for them to throw away generations of tradition, just for you."
Drakken shrugged, "Yes." he said, "It's either that or the total annihilation of their Houses, their Families, their bloodlines....and most importantly, their traditions."
"Why would anyone willingly convert to your side, Drakken?" Aemon asked, "What you do is force people to do your bidding, use fear and death to enslave them. That is all you are, a Monster who terrorizes and torments others."
"I do good things as well." Drakken sneered, "You see......I brought that boy back from the dead, I have healed hundreds of unfortunate through Maegelle's hands...I have given my followers a better life. My Duskguard level battlefields for the sole purpose of the innocent to thrive. The more War is waged, the more power I have....and the better my worshippers will live. It is a perfect symbiotic relationship....."
"It is wrong." Aemon said, "It is fucking wrong and you know it."
"Your Gods are not here, Aemon." Drakken said, "I am the only God here. I have the power to do anything....."
"Tricks, nothing more." Baelon spat
"Quit being in denial. You have all known me for years. I have put the both of you specifically in situations where you could have died...yet you don't..." Drakken said, "Because I keep you from dying. Aemon, your boy would have died much earlier than he did if I did not intervene. Tell me, Baelon, would you still be holding your Aegon if I did not intervene?"
Baelon's face went pale, "What are you talking about?"
Drakken smirked menacingly, "That day I went to retrieve Saera and your wife was in labor." He said, "You do know that she and Aegon died, right?"
"W-What?" He said
"You lie." Aemon said seriously, "We would have been informed of this."
"Hehehe...." Drakken chuckled, "Alyssa died in childbirth after the Grand Maester used the blade to pull Aegon out....and the poor boy....he could not make it....yet....I came in and decided to bring them back. I brought them back, Baelon. You owe me a life debt, and you don't even know it. Alyssa is perfectly fine, is she not? You feel the warmth of her body every day and night.....you hold your son in your hands....and you have me to thank."
"Fucking liar..." Baelon gritted his teeth, "You are lying...."
"Alyssa was so grateful for doing this for her....to allow her to live...to give her the opportunity to give you more children. A chance at a better life." Drakken slowly stood up, "Do you wonder why Alyssa is so deadset on making peace with the Trinity?"
Baelon began to tremble, "N-No..." He said, "Don't say it...."
Drakken smirked, "That is right." He said, "You guessed it...She is mine now, Alyssa Targaryen."
"She is part of the Trinity."
