Aemon and Jaehaerys were running up the stairs, followed by a small force of guards and soldiers when they ran into some Septas.
"Your Grace!!" One of them cried, "Someone is in there!! Yelling at the altar, claiming that our gods are cowards!!"
"What?" Aemon asked
"He killed Septa Marla and cursed the gods!!" She cried, "Apparently, they are cowards for not coming down themselves to kill him!!"
Jaehaerys narrowed his eyes, "It appears that he himself knows the truth...." He said, "Drakken knows that The Sword can kill him.....this is our only chance....his pride and hubris is his own undoing..."
"To come before the Seven before he dies..." Aemon said, "And curse them...it is definitely like him...."
"Let us go!" Jaehaerys said as they began to keep running up the stairs
They all reached the entrance and barged through, seeing the corpse of the Septa right in front of them as they saw that Drakken was sitting down below the altar, bleeding still.
"Drakken!" Jaehaerys exclaimed, "This is as far as you come!!"
Drakken scowled, "Is that so?"
Aemon stepped forward, "Drakken...." He said, "Your reign of terror is over....."
Drakken stood up, wobbling slightly, "Where have I heard that before?" He said with a serious expression, "Ah, yes....countless of Heroes like yourself have challenged me with stupid ideals....and all of them have fallen...."
"This is different." Jaehaerys said, "Our Gods have blessed us, they have given us the means to destroy you!!"
"No, I have heard that exact line as well." Drakken said as he slowly walked to the center of the Sept, "But those gods at least make their presence known.....but yours? All they do is send down a piece of iron and bless it? Showing me that they can kill me without even looking at me?! Isn't that pathetic?!"
"Enough of this!" Aemon said, "You cannot avoid it further, Drakken!!"
"The Essosi are rampaging about in the Stormlands and you worry about me...." Drakken said, "Is that how it is?"
"We will handle the Essosi after you are dead." Jaehaerys said, "And your Duskguard will be left powerless....."
"Hm, cannot argue with that." He said, "If I die, so do my Beasts.....and the power of my Marked Ones fade..."
"As I thought..." Jaehaerys said, "It is over."
"Hm..." Drakken said, "Aemon.....you want to do it....?"
Aemon raised The Sword up, "I have no choice." He said, "I am the only one that can do it."
Drakken nodded seriously, "So be it..." He said, "But I won't make it easy..."
He snapped his fingers and one of the soldiers' sword disappeared and appeared on Drakken's hand.
"You want to fight back?" Jaehaerys asked
"Do you remember the Hero-Knight I told you about?" Drakken said as he limped to the side, "I want to relive that moment, Aemon Targaryen....."
"So be it." Aemon said, "Prepare yourself."
Drakken held the sword with one hand, pointing it at Aemon, "Come."
Aemon lunged at Drakken, swinging The Sword at him with finesse. Drakken blocked it with a bit of struggle but was able to step to the side, his skin sizzling due to the effect of the Sword's power. He then tried to counter but Aemon was able to parry the strike with ease.
"Tch...." Drakken said with anger
"The Sword enchants my body...." Aemon said, "On the way over, I felt its power flowing through my body....it was the only way....I can actually do this...."
"Shut up." Drakken said as he swung his sword again
The blade was parried again by Aemon, who countered with a swing aiming at his face. Drakken leaned away, but the blade grazed him, cutting him a bit and causing a blue light to erupt from the cut. His wound burned up as he staggered back, the grip on his sword loosening and causing him to drop it.
"The power of our gods is too great..." Jaehaerys said seriously, "Finish it, Aemon!"
"Wait!!" a voice exclaimed
As Drakken stumbled, everyone turned to see Maegelle running into the entrance.
"Maegelle!!" Jaehaerys scowled, "What are you doing here?!"
"You cannot do this!!" Maegelle said as some soldiers caught her, preventing her from running past, "You do not understand the consequences!! The Duskguard!! The Beasts!! They will destroy everything if their God is dead!!"
"He just confirmed that all of them will be powerless!" Jaehaerys said, "You cannot prevent this from happening, Maegelle!!!!"
"No!!" Maegelle said, "That is not true!! I know it is not!!"
"Stop talking, Maegelle..." Drakken said with anger in his eyes, "Stop fucking talking!!"
"Father, please....!" She said, "You can still stop this....there is still time!!"
"No." Jaehaerys faced away, "Keep hold of her. Do not let her go."
Aemon closed his eyes, "I am sorry, Maegelle..." He said, "You might have grown attached....but it has to be done....to free you....to free all of us...."
He then lunged at Drakken who pointed his open palm at him. It was clear that Drakken was trying to use his Sorcery against him but something prevented him from doing so.
"What?!" Drakken exclaimed, "N-No!"
Aemon then thrust his blade and pierced through Drakken's stomach, causing him to widen his eyes and cough off blood as a bright blue light emitted from the wound.
"Aghh!!" He shouted in pain as his wound began to burn up
Aemon pulled out the blade as he began to feel a bit of anxiety, "Y-You..." he panted, "You were but a man with power...!! And our Gods.....they gave us the power to kill you!!!"
Drakken stumbled forwards and black veins under his eyes appeared, his irises turning pitch black as his pupils glowed brightly.
"I will fucking make you regret this decision....A-Aemon!!!" He said as blood poured from his mouth, "Your Gods....!!! They are nothing to me!!!"
"You do not look in the condition to say that..." Aemon said with a fierce look in his eye, "Drakken!!!"
Aemon then thrust The Sword through his chest, plunging it through Drakken's heart.
"NOOOO!!!!" Maegelle shouted with tears in her eyes as she was held back by the soldiers
A bright white light appeared from the wound on Drakken's chest, his entire body shaking as Aemon tried pulling the blade free but could not. Drakken then stepped away as his mouth was agape, a bright blue light shining from it as his eyes began to glow bright blue as well.
"A-AGHHH!!!!!" He shouted in pain, bright blue cracks appearing all over his body as he began to violently shake
Aemon let go of the handle and stepped back, watching this unfold in pure awe and shock, "T-This...."
Maegelle watched this in horror, "L-Lord Drakken!!!" She cried, "N-NO!!"
Jaehaerys had a shocked look, "It...." he said, "It worked...."
Drakken stumbled all the way back to the altar, his entire body steaming as he was beginning to be engulfed in the light.
"AGHHHH!!!!" he kept shouted,
"N-NOOOOOO!!!!!"
