"Visenya." Father said as she held my daughter in her arms, "A fine name."
Mother chuckled as she stood in front of him, gently patting her cheek, "Is it not?" She smiled, "She is as beautiful as her mother is."
I stood next to the bed where Rhaenyra still sat, she and I were looking at my Father and Mother seeing Visenya. I did not know how to react to this, but seeing that they were taking it well made me feel a bit more at ease.
Mother had wanted to wait until Father got here to see my daughter and despite me telling her that it was okay, she still insisted. Father had taken the babe in her arms and had a slight smile on his face, which was surprising. I did not expect that Daemon Targaryen of all people would show such a soft face to anyone.
Was he like this when I was born? Would he have been like this with Rhaena?
"Well done, Aerion." Father said, "You were able to give us a grandchild."
I nodded, "Thank you....Father....."
"Princess..." Mother said as she took the babe away from Father, "I am so happy.....you must be overjoyed to have given birth to a wonderful girl..."
I looked at Rhaenyra, she was smiling, "Yes...." She said, "I.....she is perfect..."
"She is..." Mother said as she walked over to Rhaenyra, looking at Visenya with a warm smile, "I never thought I would be a grandmother....but here we are."
"I am honored to have given you your first granchild, My Lady." Rhaenyra said, "Of all people, I am glad it was you."
"You flatter me, Princess." Mother said, "And Aerion? How well did he receive this?"
Rhaenyra looked at me as I stood there, looking at them with a serious face.
"He...." She started, "Well, he is himself."
"Hm....." I said merely
Mother chuckled, "My boy will always be serious, will he not?" She said, "But he is happy. He is grateful for this."
"I..I know..." Rhaenyra said as she reached for my hand, "I know that he is...."
She gently grabbed it, squeezing it as she gave me a smile.
I nodded, "Right...."
"Viserys has spoken." Father said suddenly, "He wants to throw a Tourney. So he shall."
I looked at him, he was leaning against the wall with a slight smirk on his face.
"What of it?" I asked
"Will you partake in it?" He asked, "Jousts or not, it is a Tourney held in your daughter's honor."
"I have no interest in entertaining others with false battles." I told him, "Especially horse-play."
"But a Melee is fine." Rhaenyra chuckled
"What...." I started
"You have to partake, Aerion." Mother said, "She is your daughter. You have to win and crown Rhaenyra the Queen of Love and Beauty. It is only right, it is appropriate."
I looked at Rhaenyra who was giving me a smile, "Hm..."
"I have not had anyone win a Tourney for me in years." She said with a chuckle
"I am aware." I said simply
"Aerion." Mother said with a scolding tone
"It is okay, My Lady." Rhaenyra lifted my hand and kissed it, "I am used to this one's blunt nature. I adore it."
"Do you, now?" I said with a raised eyebrow
"I do." She said, "And now that I have given you a daughter, I think it is only fair if you win a Tourney for both of us."
"Hm." I said
"What better way to let loose, eh?" Father said
"Let loose, you say?" I looked at him, "Do you really want me to do that?"
"Take it easy." He said as he walked up to me and patted me on the shoulder, "We can talk about this later. For now, enjoy the fact that you are a father."
"Hm..." I said, "Fine."
"Do not be a grouch." He chuckled before walking away, "I will see you later, alright?"
"Where is he going?" I said as he left the room
"Who knows, I do not understand him sometimes." Mother said as I looked over to her and saw that she was handing the babe over to Rhaenyra, "He is something of an enigma."
Rhaenyra tucked her hair behind her ear and held Visenya in her arms, a warm smile on her face as she did this. I could not help but just be entranced by the sight of her, her beauty, her everything. She looked so ethereal, holding my child, holding my daughter. I could not help but just stare at her, hoping that my expression was not a terrifying one. I could not change it, I could not just shift my expression. I tried my best to do so, but I just could not.
"My boy." Mother said as she kissed me on the cheek
I had not noticed that she walked around the bed and pulled me down to her leve.
"Mother?" I blinked and looked at her
"Congratulations." She said softly as she patted my cheek, "You have no idea how happy I am. To see you finally have a child of your own. I hope that you give me more grandchildren so I can experience that joy, that feeling of pride."
I nodded, "R-Right...."
"I will now leave the two of you alone." She said as she patted my chest, "Alright? Princess, I will be in my quarters if you need me."
Rhaenyra nodded, "Y-Yes, thank you..."
Mother smiled and walked away, leaving the room.
"Hm....." I said as I stood there, "She wants more, huh?"
"That is not a bad idea." Rhaenyra chuckled
I looked at her, "Huh?"
She smiled, "It is only natural." She said, "She wants more grandchildren to spoil, I bet."
"Right...." I said, "And...d-do you want to have more children?"
She was looking at Visenya, "Yes." She said without hesitation, "I do."
I sat down on the bed next to her, "I see...."
"You?" She asked as she looked at me
"I...." I said softly, "I do not know....maybe....?"
"Maybe?" She said with a smile, "There is a chance.....I want to give you a son....I want you to be happy with me....I.....I want to please you, Aerion...."
I leaned in and kissed her forehead again, "I am satisfied with this, Rhaenyra." I told her, "Do not get the wrong idea. You could give me seven girls and I will not care, they are mine, I will care for them....I will love them. And....I will always be grateful to you."
"Seven?" She said with a chuckle, "Is that how much you want?"
"T-That was an example." I said
"Aerion." She said with a gulp, suddenly, "K-Kiss me...."
"I...." I said, "I did....your-"
"No." She cut me off, "I wish to taste your lips....it has been months since I have..."
"Rhaenyra....I...." I said
"You have shown me affection...." She said softly, "You hold my hands....you lay in my bed when I sleep, ensuring that I am comfortable. You hold me when I feel sad....you kiss me on my cheek and forehead....displaying care....but...A-Aerion.....I am your wife....p-please...."
"I am sorry." I patted her cheek, "That I have made you feel this way."
"It is fine...." She said, "Y-You have your own issues....I understand....but we have a daughter together....I am the mother of your child...I des-"
I leaned in to her, kissing her on the lips gently as I wrapped my arm around her while she held our daughter. I felt her jump up in response with surprise, feeling as she melted at my touch and kissed me back almost immediately after she eased down.
I felt something inside me stir due to this. The more I kissed Rhaenyra, the better I felt. I did not think it was going to be like this.
I did not want to stop.
But I had to stop kissing her at some point.
I pulled back, seeing that her face was covered in a blissful delight.
I licked my lip, "I...." I said, "I am sorry...You deserve this...."
She blinked slowly, "Thank you...." She said softly, "At the very least....I know that your kiss was genuine and that you do....that you do care for me...."
I leaned in again and kissed her cheek, "I do." I said, "Thank you, Rhaenyra....for giving me a daughter..."
"I will do my best as a Father and Husband."
