"Are you ma-" I stopped myself before clenching my fists, "Are you serious, Father?!"
I could not bring myself to say something out of line. He is not just my father, he is the King. There are times were I push my limits, where I overstep. I did not want to go too far past said line in a situation like this.
This was madness!! This was more than ridiculous!
Who in their right mind could ever think of something like this?!"
"The King has made his decision." Otto said, "Soon, he will make the announcement. After conferring with the Grand Septon, it was acceptable to do this."
I pointed at him, "You!! Silence!"
Otto's face hardened but stayed quiet. He knew that I was serious in my command, telling him to not say another word. I could not feel anything but anger in my entire body as it began to shake and tremble.
"Otto is my Hand, he will not be silenced." Father said seriously as he walked down the steps, "He will speak for me on this matter. He is right. The Faith will not challenge this. You are after all cho-"
"Enough of this 'Chosen by The Gods' shite!!" I exclaimed, "I do not care about any of that!! What good is that hubris?! I survived my childbirth when my own birth Mother died!! Balerion regained his vigor that same day? What does that have to do with being chosen?!"
"Baelon." Father said firmly, "It will happen."
"You can't do this." I said as I stepped forward, "Y-You cannot...."
"I can and I will." He said
"All of this...." I started, "All of the decisions that you firmly make, the commands you give me, it is like you wish for me to resent you. To force me to do things that I clearly do not want to do. You wanted me to put a child in Helaena when she was not sure if she wanted to bear one.....now you want me to take another woman as my wife? That is not fair, it is not fair to her, Father!! She is my wife! She is-"
"I am your King!!!" He shouted, "And you will do as I command!!"
I stepped back and shook my head, "I cannot accept this."
"You can and you will." He said firmly, "This is the only way to keep the peace in the Realm. Your Sister is the rabbit, and all the wolves will come out to try and rip her to pieces!! She needs the protection of someone that nobody will dare challenge and that someone is you. I have given it great thought and I cannot think of another option, Baelon. No matter who I think of marrying her off to, the risk of another situation like Trevor's is there.....whether great or small, the risk is there!"
"My Sister...." I said before clearing my throat, "My Sister is a dragon....and-"
"Everyone wants a piece of the Dragon's Blood, My Prince." Otto cut me off, "You must know that."
"Yea, just like you would know, Lord-Hand." I said with a glare, "How you forced your blood into the Royal Family by marrying my mother to the KIng. Do not speak to me about the ambition of those wretched fools that wish to mix their blood with ours."
"Enough, Baelon!" Father told me, "Otto is and has always been a loyal servant to the crown. Whether or not he married his daughter to me out of ambition, it proved to be a good choice for the sake of the Realm's future. Alicent raised you to be the man you are now, do not be ungrateful."
"What I want...." I said, "Is for you to call this off. This is not right, I do not want it!"
"Frankly, my son...." He said with a serious look on his face, "It does not matter if you want it or not. It will happen...."
"For the sake of the Realm."
***************
"Fuck!" I shouted as I punched the straw dummy as hard as I could
I watched as it fell to the ground hard, splinters of straw flying out everywhere I stood over there. I could not help but pant out of pure anger, my entire body trembled as my blood boiled.
I was in the training yard after storming away from the Throne Room. Father had just told me what he had planned to do, which was maniacal.
I could not believe something like this would come to happen.
This was not right. This was an insult to Helaena!
I could not bring myself to go see her right now, I did not know what to do or think at the moment.
"What did that dummy do to you?" I heard a voice say
"Huh?" I said as I turned around
I saw Aegon leaning against the railings of the steps that led to the entrance to the Keep. For some reason, I just noticed that his hair was slightly longer, almost reaching his shoulders.
"What is wrong with you? Something happen in Essos?" He asked with a raised eyebrow, "It is unlike you to be this angry. You should be happy you killed that traitorous piece of filth. The only thing he has done is give us Aemma, who is a gentle and sweet soul."
"Tch..." I said as I looked away, "Now is not the time, Aegon."
"Oh shit." Aegon said, "It is that bad? Well, fortunately, your younger brother is here to hear you out. What happened?"
"Nothing." I said, "You will hear about it soon enough. what is the point of telling you now?"
"Well, what is the point of waiting when I could hear it from you?" He said
I glanced at him, he was walking down the steps and making his way towards me, "I...." He said, "It is something outrageous. There is no way this could be allowed to happen."
"What?" He said as he reached me, "What is going to happen?"
"Father wants to marry Rhaenyra to me. He wants her to be my second wife." I told him
He looked at me with a surprised look for approximately two seconds before laughing, "Hehehe...."
I scowled, "What the fuck is so funny?"
He giggled for a couple of more seconds before stopping and frowning, "Oh shit..." He said, "That was not a jest? You're serious?"
"Yes, I am serious." I told him
"Whoa...." He whistled, "That......is mad....."
"I said that to the King." I said as I crossed my arms
"You? Two wives?" He said, "Wow.....Never in my life did I ever see that happen. What was the reason?"
"He does not want something like Trevor ever happening again." I said, "Because I survived and won the Trial by Seven, I am within my right to have His Wife.....and the Faith believe since I am Chosen By The Gods, I will be allowed....."
"Like the Conqueror...." Aegon said, "Heh, I am the one named after him....don't you find that absolutely hilarious, haha!"
"This is not funny, brother...." I said, "Helaena is my wife.....only her!"
"But it does make sense." He said, "If Rhaenyra is married off to you, the wielder of the greatest power in the world, nobody would ever dare try to pull something....Skagos....Essos....two very serious reminders of what Balerion is capable of....No...what you are capable of. And well, if Rhaenyra does not wish to have any more children, you don't have to put any in her.....you know."
"She lost her sons." I told him, "The mere thought of having children with her after something so horrifying is an insult to our nephews. I cannot bear those thoughts, Aegon."
He sighed, "You know..." He said, "I feel for you here, brother. This is a terrible deal to have.....I mean....I know how much you love Helaena.....but if you were to ask me....our Sister will not mind....she loves Rhaenyra....so much so that she would be willing to have her in this love dynamic of-"
"Shut up." I rolled my eyes
"Ha!" He laughed, "Lighten up, Brother."
"Everything will be well.."
