"I am glad you are here, my daughter...." Queen Alysanne told Maegelle as they sat on the table, drinking tea, "It brings me joy that you are among your family."
Maegelle nodded, "Thank you, Mother..." She said, "I feel a bit more at ease to be back here....even if it is not for long."
"Tell me...." Alysanne placed her cup down, "And be honest with me....and yourself...do you truly plan on giving yourself to that man?"
Maegelle gave her a surprised look, "E-Eh?" She said, a bit flustered, "W-What do you mean?"
"When you turn ten and eight, he will make advances towards you." Alysanne said, "Do you truly think on allowing him to defile you?"
"Defile me?" Maegelle said, "You.....I believe you have it wrong. He will not defile me...."
"Is that so?" Alysanne asked, "How so?"
"I..." Maegelle started as she scratched her cheek, "He does not seem like that kind of person...."
"He is a monster." Alysanne said, "Not one who cares much about the well-being of others. He has murdered many, tormented your Father and brothers for his pure enjoyment. The incidents in Essos, it is quite clear that it was him. Drakken is not a good person, Maegelle....."
"And you believe he will.....rape me?" Maegelle asked her, "If he was capable of that, I would have been bearing his child against my will..."
"That is not what I meant...." The Queen said
"Mother, I understand your concern....but I have spent a long time with him...." Maegelle said, "I have seen many sides of him. The 'God' side of him is the one that he wants me to worship, to give myself to....He wishes to have the Faith I have for the Seven.....but knows that it will be no easy task. I have seen the 'Monster' side of him, the one that kills mercilessly and torments others for the sake of his enjoyment.....it is a horrible thing to witness but that brutal part of him is something he restrains a lot. And there is the 'Man' side of him, the one that I am the most intrigued by...I have seen it the most whenever he is with his son...I...."
"His son?" Alysanne asked, "He shows affection to the boy?"
"N-No....well.....yes...but in his own way...." Maegelle said as she looked down, "It is difficult to explain. He does not show any physical affection, he rarely holds his own son. But whenever he is with him, he always speaks to Lord Riktor as if the boy is grown.....and every thing he speaks to me about him is how he has high expectations and that Lord Riktor will meet them. That.....that is a Father speaking, a Man speaking....."
"A man who seeks to deflower you...." Alysanne told her daughter, "Someone who wishes to do the same to your sister.....someone who has mistresses and spits in the face of tradition."
"He treats me with respect." Maegelle said, "I know it may be hard to believe but he does.....and I think it will be the same with Saera....but she will need a bit more to handle....but the point is that he does not wish to deflower me against my will....I....."
"You are my daughter, Maegelle..." The Queen said, "And I only want the best for you. You were fine as a Septa....you would have been protected by the grace of the gods if it not for your Father's choice..."
"Do you hold resentment to him for that?" Maegelle asked, "Because of that choice, a War eventually broke out, and Drakken killed thousands."
"In a way, I am angry at your Father...." Alysanne said, "And the fact that he is more than willing to offer more daughters angers me so....I do not agree with that....."
"If you want me to be honest, I would rather be by Drakken's side than any other Lord in the Realm...." Maegelle said, "If I was not to be a Septa...."
"Is that so?" Alysanne asked, "What a curious thing to say....."
"We once visited Casterly Rock....before Lord Riktor was born....." Maegelle said, "Lord Lannister's son....he tried to rape me....."
Alysanne widened her eyes, "W-What??" She exclaimed, "You didn't tell me....!"
"Because he had already been punished...." Maegelle looked down, "Lord Drakken was enraged....the 'Monster' side of him came out and well....he showed House Lannister that he was not someone that would take that lying down......he killed him countless times.....similar to what he did to my brothers....."
"I....I see...." Alysanne said
"I feel safe with him, Mother..." Maegelle said, "It is a difficult thing to admit....but when I am with him.....I know nothing will happen to me.....but dealing with him can be more than difficult...."
"I understand..." The Queen said, "Well, I really do not like it...."
"It is the cruel reality we need to accept...." Maegelle said as she looked at her mother,
"Lord Drakken is here to stay, I suppose."
****************
Drakken sat on a chair, looking over at the Black Water Gulf, watching some ships in the water.
He was leaning back, a table next to him with some wine and pastries. It was safe to say that he was more than relaxed. He had promised Maegelle he was not going to cause any more trouble, which meant he had to be lurking about the Red Keep while she spent time with her Family.
King Jaehaerys understood that no matter what, Drakken would not break his promise to Maegelle and saw no harm in him lurking about. If Drakken did anything as mischievous as cutting the hair off anyone, Maegelle would not appreciate that.
The King wanted to use that against him in some way.
The God of War and Death sighed as he held a single flower in his hand, a daisy that he had between his index and thumb, twirling it gently.
"Hm....." He said with a slight smile, leaning in and smelling it
It was unknown why Drakken was holding such a flower in his hand, but for whatever reason, he was looking more calm and collected. One would say that his silence would mean another scheme ready to be hatched at any moment.
He felt calm, a bit at ease, despite being told not to cause any trouble.
He could not help but think of Maegelle as he looked at the flower, something that even surprised him. The more he looked at the daisy, the more clear Maegelle's face became in his mind. It was a strange thing that he did not understand.
"Interesting...." He said as he narrowed his eyes slightly, "What is this feeling?"
"Hey!" a voice called out
Drakken glanced to his side, seeing Saera Targaryen stomping towards him as Ser Ryam Redwyne walked behind her.
"Oh. It is you." He said with a serious expression
Saera approached him with a scowl, "You wretched and foul man!" She said as she crossed her arms, "What vile sorcery did you use against me?!"
"My Princess..." Ser Ryam said, "I suggest you calm do-"
"Silence, I am not speaking to you!" Saera spat
Drakken blinked, "I'll use it again if you don't calm down." He said, "Do yourself a favor, girl, go away. I am in a good mood now...."
"I don't care!" Saera glared at him, "I demand to know what sort of power you have!"
"You were not told?" Drakken smelled the daisy, "I am a God."
"A God?" Saera asked, "That is naught but shite!"
"Princess, do not speak like that...." Ser Ryam said
"It's true, but I won't argue with you." Drakken said, "It is strange.....I am feeling.....strange.....Ser Ryam, would you allow me to kill you? To see if I feel different?"
"Uh.....No..." Ser Ryam said
Saera was about to speak when another voice cut her off.
"I found you." Corlys Velaryon's voice reached Drakken's ear, which instantly irritated him, "You.....you fiend!"
Saera looked at Corlys, who approached them, "You...." She said, "What do you want?"
"I came looking for this one." Corlys looked at Drakken, "I am here to chal-"
"Silence." Saera said, "You are speaking to my future husband, I will have you know."
Drakken raised an eyebrow and turned around to see Saera, "What?"
"Hmph." Saera flicked her hair back, "You stupid and wretched man, I know that you posses such power....and I want it for myself!"
"I will have it!"
