[Several Months Later…]
I sat down in the table, looking at Jon who was giving his report.
"Brynden, who has the command of the detachment over by Casterly Rock has stated that besides the occasional bandit raids, it is too quiet." Jon said, "Not only that, Lord Lannister has become quite persistent in his approaches to the Keep."
I nodded, "Very well." I said, "Send a message to Brynden, tell him to refuse them unless absolutely necessary."
He nodded, "As you command." He said, "There is another thing. Something that Lannister has said."
I looked at him, "What is it?" I asked
"He demands a grandchild via his daughters." He said, "He said in a letter that is the reason why he handed them to you."
I frowned, "Demands he says?" I said as irritation filled my body, "Write a letter to Lannister, write that I am politely telling him to fuck off. Should he demand something of me again, I will return his daughters piece by piece and retrieve my Duskguard."
He looked at me for a few seconds before clearing his throat and nodding.
"Understood." He said
I raised an eyebrow, "Is there something you want to say?"
"Well…." He said as he looked away
"Say it." I told him sternly
"What are you going to do with them?" He asked, "The men are complaining that Dara is constantly harassing them since she is bored. There has been a couple of incidents where she has tried to make a move on one of my men and Olyver had him fed to our Lady's wolves. She is bored, the other one also grows restless."
"Hm." I said
"Again, If I may speak my mind freely, I can see that you don't seem interested in them." He told me, "You do what you want to, Of course. But to avoid disaster, something must be done with them."
"Fine." I shrugged, "You can have them. If you can make sure that one of them is still pure, you can have your pick. You are right, I am not interested in them."
He looked at me with a surprised look, "W-Well, I…."
"You are a devout follower and a loyal commander." I said, "Mya told me I should reward you generously and ever since she told me she was pregnant, I didn't pay any attention to the twins."
He blinked, "B-But My Lord…."
"I am not going to repeat myself." I said, "You are a member of the Duskguard, a marriage like this will benefit House Lannister regardless. Do in fact send that message, though. Remind him of what position he is in, the cunt."
He stood up and slightly bowed, "Thank you, My Lord." He said, "I am grateful for this, I truly am. Merely serving under you is reward enough.".
I nodded, "Yes, well-" I started before I was cut off by a strange sound in my ear
It sounded like a distorted swirling of wind, rapidly forming behind my head. It sent a chill down my spine as my fingers began to tingle. I had not felt something like this in so long that I forgot what it was.
"Weak…." A low distorted voice whispered in my ear
I frowned and looked around, "Weak?"
"My Lord?" Jon asked
I looked at him and waved him off, "It is nothing." I told him, "You are dismissed."
The swirling sound became a bit louder and my head began to throb, something was creeping in the back of my mind.
"Forgot yourself…." The voice said
I could not help but frown at this, my fists clenched by themselves as a reaction. It had become a strange and annoying feeling so quickly.
Jon bowed slightly and looked at me, "Very well….." he said, "I will go ahead and inform the Twins about the decision."
I nodded, "right…."
He then left the room, leaving me alone by myself.
"Weak…?" I said to myself, "Forgot myself?"
********* "Ehh???" Dara Lannister said as she stood there in the courtyard outside Harrenhal, "What do you mean I am to marry Ser Jon???"
Mya who was standing next to me, holding her large belly was merely chuckling.
"It is a command from Lord Drakken himself." She said with a smile
Dara looked at her, "Well, I want that." She said as she pointed at her belly
"You will get it if you marry Ser Jon." Mya told her
"Yes, but I want it from him." She said as she pointed
I smacked my lips, "This one is a spoiled shit, isn't she?" I said as I rolled my eyes, "If you don't want it, fine, we'll give your sister to him. Jon is a commander of my army, he gets plenty of benefits. Lyssa is generating enough gold to build more and more forts and keeps and he'll get his own one day. If you don't want that, well, that is your problem."
I looked to the side and saw that her twin, Daranne was sitting in the distance, on a bench and looking up at the falling leaves of a nearby tree. That one was quiet, much more quiet than her sister but she has her quirks as well. She can get a bit temperamental but she doesn't lash out or anything.
I rarely interacted with her, it was mostly Dara.
Dara scowled, "It's not fair."
"Don't complain to me about fair." I said, "Do as you are told. You have been treated well here, nobody touches you, you get what you ask for. You are fed, clothed, and given the luxury that a Lannister has."
"Yet, you don't touch me." She said with an annoyed tone
My eye twitched, the swirling sound getting louder as my head throbbed even more. I began to feel a chill going through my spine as I got quick flashes of black and white in my vision in front of me.
It was an uneasy experience but I acted like nothing had happened.
I took a step forward, "Do what you are told." I said, "If you marry Ser Jon and give him children, you will be rewarded greatly."
"Can I have one of those dragon creatures?" she asked me
"No." I said, "Shut up now. My head hurts."
"But-" She started
"Dara, dear, please...." Mya cut her off, "Lord Drakken is tired, do not antagonize him. His word is law, he means well."
Dara frowned and crossed her arms, "Fine then." She said, "I-"
"Make a move on someone else and I'll send you back to Casterly Rock." I cut her off with an annoyed tone as I placed my hand on my temple, "You will comport yourself with dignity here and when you marry Jon, you will not cause a scandal, otherwise a punishment will be in order."
"Lord Drakken." Mya said as she grabbed my hand, "Are you well? Let's get you some water."
"I'm fine." I said as I pried free as the swirling got louder and my head became numb
"Weakness......why show weakness? Kill...." the voice was louder, "Destroy...."
Ah.
I know what this was.
I forgot that this is what happened the first time I obtained my Calamity. Is this an effect from being disconnected from Infernis? I wonder...it has been years since this has happened to me.
It is trying to influence me......Chaos Incarnate.....The Calamity.....
It manifests as a voice that speaks to me and tempts me to cause destruction. For years after I mastered my power, I didn't hear the voice telling me what to do....and yet I do it.
Why? Because I have always been a suitable vessel for Chaos.....because I am one with it......
I let out a sigh as the throbbing eased up, watching as Dara stomped away in a fit of frustration.
"My Lord...." Mya said
I looked up at the sky, "Hm......" i said, "I wonder...."
"what is it?" Mya asked me
I frowned,
"Have I gone soft?"
