"Valerion?" Father asked, "Are you sure about this name?"
We were back in Helaena's quarters, she was back on bed so she would rest. After I had taken my son to see Balerion, everyone urged me to take the child back inside.
I nodded, "Yes." I said with a smile as I looked at the boy, "I am sure."
"I do not think it is a good idea." He said as I sat down slowly, "Baelon, reconsider."
"How so?" I asked with a frown, "I chose the name and Helaena likes it."
"I had an uncle named Valerion." Father said, "He did not live to his first nameday."
I looked at him, "What?"
Mother looked at me, "Your Father believes the name carries ill-fortune." She said, "The boy did not make it very far in his life and another boy has not been named that since."
"Mayhaps the ill-fortune is the one that you bring upon him, concerning yourselves with such absurdities" i said, "It is his name, I have decided."
"Baelon." Father started
"It is fine, Father." Helaena said, "It is a wonderful name. The boy will be well, I know he will."
"My girl…" Father said, "Are you certain?"
"I have seen it…." She said with a smile, "He will be fine. This dream, I know it is truth."
I looked at my son, he was sleeping. His innocent face had a peaceful look to it. Mother said he looked like me, but seeing him reminded me a lot of Helaena and her purity.
I leaned down and kissed his forehead, "It is decided." I said, "His name is Valerion."
"Very well…." Father said, "We are throwing a Jousting Tourney, however."
I looked up, "Seriously?"
He looked at me, "Do not argue with me." He said, "It is going to happen. I will send word to the Lords of the Realm, they will have time to gather towards King's Landing. When Helaena is well-rested, You will take the boy to the capital so he meets the rest of the Family."
"They have dragons." I said, "They can fly over and see him."
"I have spoken." He said firmly, "It is going to happen."
"Do not argue, Baelon." Halaena said, "And….bring him to me please. I need to hold him."
I stood up carefully, "Of course, my love." I said as I walked over to her, "I am sorry."
"It is fine." She said softly as I handed Valerion to him, "My beautiful boy, Valerion. He is so perfect, I cannot be any happier…."
I leaned in and kissed her cheek, "Thank you." I told her softly, "For giving me this gift."
She looked at me, "For you, anything." She said, "He is ours, Baelon. We made him, such a pure and perfect soul."
I smiled at her, "Yes."
Mother cleared her throat, "Your Father and I will be in the dining hall." She said, "We will await you, Baelon. Helaena, my dear, rest. I will come and be with you later."
I looked at them, "Very well." I said, "That is fine."
"Okay." Helaena said softly
Father gave us a smile and a nod, turning around and walking away as Mother followed.
I then saw that as they reached the door, Rhaenyra walked in.
"Father….Your Grace…." She said, "I…I have to see my nephew…."
Father gave her a nod as Mother stepped to the side and looked down.
"Go ahead, dear." Father said, "He is a wonderful boy."
Rhaenyra smiled and walked towards us and I saw how Father and Mother walked out of the room.
"How are you feeling, Helaena?" She asked as she reached us, "You look well…"
"I feel tired, that is all." She said
Rhaenyra looked at Valerion, "Look at him…." She said as she reached over and gently patted his head, "He is so beautiful….."
I nodded, "He is."
"He reminds me of Vis-" She started before stopping herself and backing away, her voice got shaky, "I….uhm….I am sorry."
"Are you alright?" I asked her
"Sister?" Helaena said
"I am fine." Rhaenyra said as she quickly wiped away a tear and smiling, "I am so happy for you, Helaena….to be a mother….it is a beautiful thing."
"Thank you, Sister." Helaena smiled, "From today onwards, our lives gets better. We have a new addition to our family, our sweet child….My Valerion…"
"Hm." I said, "Yes…it appears he will have receive much love."
Rhaenyra chuckled, "That, he will."
"Do you wish to hold him?" Helaena asked
"It is okay." Rhaenyra said with a smile as she shook her head, "I do not wish to disturn him…."
"Are you certain?" I asked her
She nodded, "Yes…" she said, "I-I am…."
I leaned in and kissed Helaena on the cheek, "I will leave you to rest, my love." I told her, "I will have the wetnurses on standby for you, alright?"
"Okay…" she said, "Come back to me soon, I wish to lay in bed while you hold me."
"I will." I chuckled as I straightened up
I walked over to Rhaenyra and kissed her on the cheek, "You sure you are alright?" I asked her, "Hm?"
She nodded, "Yes."
"He is your nephew." I told her, "Your Family. Your Blood. I wish for you to love him as much as I loved your boys."
"I will…" she said softly, "I will, Baelon."
I patted her shoulder, "Will you stay with her a bit?"
She nodded, "Yes."
"Thank you." I told her before walking away,
"I will return later."
****************
"Valerion Targaryen…." Mother said, "It has a nice ring to it. I cannot say I am surprised, however. You are obsessed with Balerion."
"Aegon is obsessed with Sunfyre and there is no issue there." I said as I took a sip from my cup
"Aegon did not name his son after the dragon." She retorted
"I like the name." I said
"I do too." She replied
"I like it too but the history behind it-"Father started
"I would appreciate it if you do not mention it, Father." I said, "Please. He is my son, I will not have talk about a potential tragedy to be spoken about him."
He sighed, "I understand." He said, "I am sorry."
"How is your relationship with Rhaenyra?" Mother asked me
"Good….I suppose." I told her
"Hm." She said with a very serious look on her face, "Have you bedded her?"
"I….uh…." I said, "That is not appropriate to discuss."
"You have…." She said
"Alicent." Father started, "Not now. His son was just born."
"I do not want people to start speaking about how my daughter is being insulted.” Mother said, “That you and Rhaenyra were having an affair.”
“Mother….” I sighed, “Those were my concerns when the King made his decision. If you have anyone to complain to, it is him. I do not intend on neglecting Rhaenyra any longer, whatever we do here will stay within these walls. I love Helaena, she is the mother of my Son. I will not insult her in any way.”
“Are you sure?” She asked, “Because it brings me to my next topic. Drop the act, Baelon, we know.”
“Know what?” I asked
“Alicent….” Father said, “Not now,”
“If you wish to fuck your new wife, go ahead.” Mother said with an angry scowl, “But going behind our backs and fucking other women before your wife was showing her belly?”
“That is an insult!!”
