"Slaughter us?" I said with a slight smirk, "That's quite something....do you really believe you are capable of doing something like that, Harwin?"
He had his hand leaning on the handle of his sword as he looked at me, "Nobody truly knows what could happen in a Trial by Seven." He said, "Even Maegor The Cruel nearly died from his wounds......"
"My nephew is not Maegor." Daemon said, "And neither am I. We are both superior to him in terms of fighting, you should know that."
"So you say, Prince Daemon." Harwin told us, "So you say."
"Hm..." I said with a raised eyebrow
"We ought to cut your head off right now and prevent Trevor from getting allies in the fray." Daemon said, "You stupid black-haired cunt.....I never fucking liked you, always so smug.....who would have thought that Clubfoot would be more likable than you......stupid cunt."
Harwin glared at him, "No matter what you do to me, Trevor will succeed." He said, "It is all for the sake of destroying your Family and raising his Blood to the throne."
"It is a far-fetched goal." I told him, "Even if you kill me, nobody will suceed in claiming Balerion. It matters not how hard you try, you will not tame the Black Dread. Balerion and I are connected through Fate, The gods themselves made it so."
"You think too highly of yourself, Prince." Harwin told me, "That will be your undoing."
"If that's what you think…." I said with a scowl, "But I know this one thing, You are not better than me. When we meet in the Trial, I will ensure that my blade is plunged through your chest."
"You can try." He said mockingly
"We will not just try, we will succeed." Daemon told him, "You will do well not to underestimate us, Breakbones. You claimed once to he the strongest knight in the Seven Kingdoms, but you were not the best fighter."
Harwin then turned around and began to walk away, "I will see the two of you tomorrow." He said, "I look forward to feeling the satisfaction of killing you both."
"Where do you think you are going?" Daemon asked, "We are not done here."
Harwin stopped and looked at us, "We are." He said, "Do brace yourself in meeting your distant cousins."
"What?" I frowned, "What is that supposed to mean?"
"You should know." Harwin said, "Ada Waters is not the only Targaryen Bastard. There are those from the East, I met them in my travels."
"You met bastards who do not know who their mother or father is." Daemon scoffed, "Cunts that dyed their hair white and pretend they are something they will never be. They are no kin of ours, know that."
"Uncle." I said, "What if what he says holds truth?"
"What, that there are Bastards on the other side? I don't think so." He said, "I am sure of it. The one that Corlys fucked, maybe, I could not be sure."
Harwin chuckled, "You do not know anything, I suppose." He said, "It is amazing that you are so ignorant of the truth."
"You stupid cunt." Daemon said as he pointed his blade at him, "Seize him, kill those fuckers that are with him too while you are at it."
The Goldcloaks began to take a few steps forward as the men drew their weapons but I raised my hand.
"No." I said, "Leave him be. I will be merciful enough to let him enjoy his final night on this earth. Because once tomorrow comes....."
"He will die alongside the traitorous filth."
***********
"We should have killed him." Daemon said, "We should send men to get him and throw him inside the dungeon with Trevor!"
"What we should do is get some rest," I told him, "But I don't trust that he's walking around freely. Have our men increase the security of the Red Keep."
We were walking down the halls and making our way back to our quarters respectively. I had sent word to Otto and Father about what had just happened.
We needed to gather the rest of the fighters quickly. What Harwin told us was rather unsettling, even if it were false. To think that we had Targaryen bastards across the Narrow Sea, was not something I wanted to hear. This added more weight to Trevor's goal, having more people with dragon's blood to the mix. Something made him believe that even bastards are capable of claiming dragons. Well theoretically, they could, since they are of Targaryen descent. It is the fact that they are not legitimate that holds them back.
And with trying to take us out, he could change that.
I scowled, "That bastard wanted to start a war to change the way things are." I said, "And if he managed to survive it and come out on top, he would be at the top of the world."
"Even if he started a fucking war, he was going to die, he fucking knows that." Daemon said
I stopped and looked at him, "That is not the point." I said, "If it is true if there are those with dragon's blood across the Narrow Sea, in Essos, as diluted as it could be, it would pose a problem. What if they could claim our dragons, Uncle? What if they could do what we can and attempt to wipe us out of the map. This....Trial.....we should not have let Aemond take part in it."
"Why?" He asked
I shook my head, "I am so fucking stupid." I cursed, "Four fucking dragonriders.....if we die, we free up Balerion, Vhagar, Caraxes, and Seasmoke. And if for some reason, they have Targaryen Bastards that could claim dragons and they get ahold of them....it could be all over for our House."
I cannot believe my own hubris would allow for this potential future. This could very well be what Trevor wanted, all of this was for his own plan. To think that not only did he manipulate Rhaenyra for all these years, but he would also still be pulling his strings....
"Nephew." Daemon said seriously
I looked at him, "What?"
He placed his hand on my shoulder, "That may be so..." He said with a slight smirk, "Four Dragonriders could die tomorrow.....but that will not happen....do you know why?"
"W-Why?" I said while blinking
"Because the gods have favored you from the moment you were born." He said seriously, "You are fated to rule the Seven Kingdoms, to hold our House together.....to be the symbol of power and authority. A Trial by Seven? Would that not be a perfect test for you? Even if we lose two or three dragonriders....so long as you live and ride Balerion......nobody will dare challenge you."
I looked at him, "I...." I said before nodding, "You are right.....you are right, Uncle. Ever since I was a young boy, you have always supported me...of my Fate. I am the Heir.....one day I will sit the Iron Throne and rule Westeros. You are right......So long as I am alive....."
"Nobody stands a chance against me."
