The Sword God's Wives and Concubines: Doubt
🕑 Added 2024-08-07 20:01:13 +0000 UTC(Genryujin's POV)
"Shirahoshi, huh?" I said as I looked down at the floor
"I was honestly surprised, Gen-chan." I heard Kisuke say from across from me, "I didn't think you would tell Masaki-san about your beloved late sister."
"Masaki asked me if it was okay to name her that back when she was about to pop." Yoruichi said, "I told her it wasn't up to me to give the okay, I didn't know much about her. Almost nobody does."
We were back at the Shop after Ryuken told me to fuck off. I was not surprised by his attitude towards me, I can only imagine what Masaki had gone through after I left.
But to think she would have gotten pregnant with my child, it was simply too much for me to even believe. But I instantly recognized the girl's reiatsu, it was like mine, but mixed with a Quincy's.
I.....
I don't know what to do.
"I...." I said rubbing my hair, "She was so fucking nosy back then.....it feels like just a few weeks ago."
"Ara, that's what being more than 1,000 years old does to you, Gen-chan." Kisuke said as I looked up to see him hiding his mouth behind his fan, "Frankly, I was shocked to even hear it was possible that you could impregnate someone. I honestly thought you were the issue after all this long without a chi-"
"Kisuke!" Yoruichi snapped
I raised an eyebrow, "Excuse me?"
"Haha~!" He chuckled, "A joke~!"
I sighed and waved him off, "Now's not the time for that shit." I said
"Why didn't you go to them, Gen?" Yoruichi asked, "Nothing is going to stop you."
I looked at her, her eyes were serious. I feel like there was something more than what she's told me. Something between her and Masaki. She did say she was there for her when I couldn't, but I assumed it was just friendship. She also mentioned something about moving on.
I don't know what to think anymore. Why didn't I walk past Ryuken and go to Masaki and the girl? Why....? I....I just don't know.
Am I scared? Of what Masaki would say? Of how the kid will react? Am I scared of how Katori and Saito would react?
I don't know.
How would Gramps react? This was a Shinigami/Quincy Hybrid.....I mean, there's so much at stake here. This is huge, her existence is more than her being my daughter.
It shouldn't be possible, a Quincy with Shinigami powers, how the fuck is it even a thing?
Her mere existence is a potential danger, to the balance, and to herself more than anything. If people were to find out about her.....they could.....
No. They mustn't.
I sighed, "I can't." I said as I looked down at the floor, "This...."
"Gen...." Yoruichi said, "She's your dau-"
"I can't!" I cut her off, "She's a hybrid! Do you have any idea what those idiots would think of her?! They'll-"
"Not if you don't allow it!" Yoruichi grabbed my arm, "What is wrong with you?! You're Yamamoto Genryujin! Do you have any fucking idea what that name means to us? To all of our kind?! You aren't just Captain-Commander Yamamoto's grandson, Gen, you're The Sword God! Countless of Shinigami have tried to be like you but failed..... Why am I not seeing that man? The man I....."
"Yoruichi-san..." Kisuke spoke up, "A lot has happened recently....Leave him be...."
She pulled away as she looked down, "Fine...."
"Look....I...." I said, "I don't know."
"She's right, Gen-chan." Kisuke said, "You haven't been yourself as of late. A old you would've gone to the girl without repercussions and would have defied the Higher Ups. What changed?"
I looked at him, "You wouldn't understand."
"Aren't we friends?" He said setting his fan down and giving me a serious look, "Don't tell me...is this Aizen's doing?"
I narrowed my eyes, "What?"
"Aizen...." Yoruichi said, "Is this about what he did? Or allegedly did?"
"I don't wanna talk about that." I said seriously
"It's a rather shocking thing." Kisuke said, "You went ahead and executed a Noble and got away with it. I mean, nobody gets away with that. I am not surprised, though. The reason for that was justified. But...Aizen....he got in your head."
I gave him a glare, "Stop it."
"You've kept your eye on him ever since, huh?" Kisuke said, "Made sure he didn't make any sudden and suspicious movements. But still, it doesn't change what he did to you. He rattled you, Gen-chan. That incident was meant for you to show your hand and to get in your head and it worked."
"Kisuke, what the fuck is your point?" I said
"Centuries, Gen-chan." He said, "Over the Centuries, many Shinigami have tried to take you down. All of them have failed. Koga, Azashiro, the Twins, and now this one. Who would've thought it would be Sousuke Aizen to get the job done."
"I'm still here," I said with a scowl
"You're crumbling." Kisuke said, "Aizen doesn't want to fight the real you, he wants to dissect the crumbling man he's so meticulously created. If he finds out about the girl, he'll use her against you. I highly suggest you do one of two things, Gen-chan. Either take her to Soul Society and keep her isolated and safe. Or you stay here and protect her yourself. Either way, the best-case scenario is for her to be with you."
I stood up from the seat, "I can't take her to the Soul Society nor can I stay here, you know that." I said, "As long as she stays hidden in plain sight, she'll be safe. The Ishida Family will keep her safe."
Kisuke looked at me, "Oh really? You want her to stay with them? Quincies?"
"She's a Quincy, Kisuke." Yoruichi told him
"Yes, but also Shinigami." Kisuke said, "It's a matter of time when she's shunned. I guarantee you, her Shinigami will be more dominant. After all, she's Gen-chan's blood. And not just Gen-chan.....the Old Man too. He's the Patriarch. Genryusai's blood is thick and powerful."
Yes, that's true. Anyone can say that I am this strong because of Gramps and being his grandson. But he's not my only relative who is beyond strong. No, that's not the entire case.
I turned around, "I need time to think about this." I said
"There might be not much time." Kisuke said, "Look, Yoruichi and I will do our best to keep her safe, from a distance of course. But....she is going to need you."
"I......" I said walking away, "I need to take a walk."

"What am I doing?" I said looking up at the sky
I was in a park, sitting on a bench, the sky above me was darkened with rain clouds. It seemed that it would rain for a while.
I didn't know what to do. Why was I hesitating?
Did Kisuke speak the truth? Am I crumbling? He was right, the old me would've taken the girl without a second thought. But why? Why am I hesitating right fucking now?
"I don't know what to do, sister...." I said softly, "I need your help.....I......I am lost at the moment....."
"I can help you find your way." a voice said behind me
I turned around to see Retsu walking up to me, in a Gigai. She was wearing a light blue sundress and a white straw hat.
She looked stunning, absolutely beautiful in that dress. Her curves were outlined greatly and her cleavage was showing.
She gave me a gentle smile, something that warmed my heart immediately.
"R-Retsu...." I said standing up
She walked up to me slowly, "Oh, my sweet Gen...." She said patting my cheek, "Have you seen her?"
I nodded, "Y-Yea...." I said
"Isn't she something?" She said softly, "She's so beautiful. The moment I saw her, when Isshin showed me, I.....my breath was taken...."
"Retsu...." I said gently holding her waist as she inched closer, "I'm sorry.....I didn't...."
"It's okay." She said warmly, "I am not mad."
"But...." I told her, "We've tried so many times...I've always wanted......with you...with Katori...."
"I know." She said, "Maybe our time hadn't come. Everything happens for a reason."
"But she's...." I said, "Retsu, she's a Quincy."
"She's your daughter, my dear Husband." She said as she pulled me down closer to her, "Would you reject her cause she's Quincy? You didn't refuse her mother, did you?"
She gently kissed my lips briefly, the sweet taste of nectar gave life to my anxious body.
"What do I do?" I asked as I hugged her, "I...."
"Whatever you do, I will support you." She said, "I give you my word, my love."
"I'll be by your side at all times."
