"How in the hell do Hollows even seep through like this?" I said as I sheathed my blade, "There must've been almost a hundred."
I was standing in the middle of a field as the hollow corpses slowly disintegrated. Nee-san and I came all this way to slay them since they've managed to make it into Soul Society.
"Doesn't matter, does it?" Nee-san said, "You killed them all."
She was sitting on a rock, drinking from a canteen as she gave me a serious frown.
"What's your deal?" I asked her
"Look at you, all grown up." She said, "4th Seat, too...."
"What's that gotta do with anything?" I asked, "Nee-san, did I do something wrong?"
She stood up, "Yes, Gen. You cut down our fellow members!" She said, "Do you not care about their lives?"
"I didn't kill them." I said, "They're fine."
"They're not fine, they're still bed-ridden!" She exclaimed, "What happened to you? You're not like this."
"I'm not the little kid you kept protecting, Nee-san." I said as I turned around and walked away
"Hey, come back here." She said as she walked with me, "Is something on your mind?"
I stopped, "Yes, actually." I said, "Aunt Senjumaru was right, you know? You and Gramps always kept me cooped up at the school, trying to teach me to awaken my Zanpakuto. What if I don't need my Shikai?"
"Don't say that." She said, "You'll soon awaken it."
"I don't think I ever will." I said, "Oetsu-san once said that the Zanpakuto is you and that you are the Zanpakuto, that means that if I don't find myself, I will never learn its name."
She frowned, "What're you saying?" She asked
"Take a guess." I said as I walked away
"Hey." She grabbed my arm, "Don't say that. Do you want to find yourself? All you have to do is...do things you like!"
I looked at her, "I like fighting." I said, "Let me fight, then."
She frowned, "That's not it." She said, "It's much deeper than that."
"Enlighten me then, Nee-san.' I said
"Well, I don't know how to explain it." she said, "I get what you mean...I found myself when you were small, you know? Protecting you is my life's purpose.....so if you get mad that I'm overprotective of you, I don't care, mister, I'm your older sister!"
She crossed her arms and pouted, closing her eyes. Her long and black hair flowed in the wind. She looked pretty, in the light of the sunlight.
I don't remember my mother's face, but I always assumed she looked like Shirahoshi. My whole life, when someone talks about a mother figure, I think of her. She has been there since my birth, taking care of me when Father died.
I love her. And I hate telling her how I feel about myself, that I don't want to hear my Zanpakuto's voice. Maybe it's stubbornness, but I'm afraid of what it'll say when I truly want to hear it.
I sighed, "You get off-track pretty quick." I said, "That's not the point, Nee-san...."
She opened her eyes and smiled, "Well.." She said, "The point is....that you must find yourself. Keep the Yamamoto Legacy pristine...you know, they say my Zanpakuto is second to Grandfather when it comes to fire types."
I scoffed, "It's the only fire type besides Gramps that is note-worthy." I said with a smile, "I like it, it's pretty. Blue flames."
Her eyes beamed, "I know right?!" She said, "It's so cool, I love it!"
I then felt several reiatsu in front of us and heard a stampede of footsteps as I turned to see a massive crowd of shinigami approached us.
"Ooooohhhhh???" a tall and burly man said as he stood in front of the group, "Who're these victims of our Captain's bloodlust?"
I raised an eyebrow, "What now?"
Nee-san stood in front of me, "Identify yourselves." She said seriously, "You're in the presence of Squad 1 Vice-Captain and 4th Seat, Yamamoto Shirahoshi and Yamamoto Genryujin."
He narrowed his eyes, "The old fuck Genryusai's grandkids?" he said, "Thought you were kids.....oh well, it doesn't matter, she's in the zone, come get 'em, Captain!!!"
They sneered as they parted ways for a single figure emerging from the crowd, oozing nothing but bloodlust.
I tilted my head, "Who's that?"
"Oh...no...." Nee-san whispered, "Stay back, Gen, I'll-"
I walked past her with a smile, "Nah..." i said as I felt good, "Let me handle this....."
I was, for some reason, mesmerized by this sight. It was a beautiful woman with long black hair, similar to Nee-san. She had a serious, cold, and bloodthirsty look to her pretty and pale face. Her body, I could tell that even through her kimono, it was nice and curvaceous. There was nothing but pure bloodlust emanating from her and it piqued my interest.
By instinct, I placed my hand on the handle of my sword.
The woman was looking down as she stopped and looked up at me.
"Hmm?" She said as her eyes slightly widened as our eyes met
Something shifted inside me. My heart began to beat faster and I immediately got butterflies in my stomach.
"Oi...." I said as I sweated slightly, "What is this feeling?"
I drew my sword in a swift motion as I clashed with hers; she had lunged at me with frightening speed. The impact of our swords clashing was enough to cause a massive shockwave.
"Gen!" Nee-san exclaimed
"Oii!!!" one of the shinigami exclaimed, "Who's this fucking kid?! He stopped the Captain's blade like nothing?"
The woman was surprised as well, her expression softening. I couldn't be helped but mesmerized by her, her beauty.....I didn't know how to describe it.
"Who...are you?" She softly said with no emotion in her eyes suddenly
Something about this make me feel good. I.....was attracted to this...I was attracted to her. I didn't feel like this with anyone else, not with Aunt, not with Nee-san....what was this?
Was this Love? No, it can't be.....
I pushed her back as she jumped away, straightening up, "Me?" I said as I readied a stance, "Yamamoto Genryujin, You?"
"Genryujin...? Genryusai's Grandson?" She asked, "You're older....than I thought..."
I shrugged, "I'm not a kid anymore..." I said, "You didn't answer my question, lady."
"Hey, brat!!!" one of the shinigami said, "Who the fuck do ya think yer talking to?! That's The Kenpachi!!! Captain Kenpachi!!!"
"Kenpachi?" I said, "Ohhh, Captain Kenpachi of Squad 11, right? Gramps told me about you, you're strong....he didn't mention how beautiful you are.....wow....talk about a goddess...."
"Is now the right time to say such things, Gen?!" Nee-san exclaimed, "Captain Kenpachi, please stand down, I beg of you. I know of your reputation, to think you'll raise your blade against the Captain-Commander's-"
"Quiet." She said coldly, "This boy....is strong....."
I chuckled, "Am I?" I said as I shook with excitement, "What's this feeling? This is different from killing Hollows.....why am I excited? Is it you? You're doing this to me?"
She lunged at me, swinging her sword at me hard, "I don't know." She said simply
I parried the sword hard as I pivoted, trying to strike back at her, but she was quick and was able to parry the multiple slashes I threw at her.
"This..." I said as I swung my blade at her, "This is actually fun!"
Our blades clashed, causing another shockwave.
"Interesting...." Kenpachi said
"Is your name actually Kenpachi or is it a title?" I asked her with a smile, "What's your real name?"
"Beat me and I might tell you." She said as she pushed me off, "Yamamoto Genryujin, I shall dictate whether or not you live."
"No, stop this!" Nee-san jumped in front of me, "Captain Kenpachi, you leave me no choice!"
"Step out of the way, girl." Kenpachi said, "I shall cut you down if you don't."
Nee-san drew her sword and released her reiatsu, turning it to blue flames.
"Set The Skies Ablaze..."
Suddenly, her sword transformed and separated into two katanas with blue flames on them, releasing an intense heat.
"So Ryu Kogo!!"
Shit, this wasn't good. Nee-san's Zanpakuto was strong, second to Gramps when it comes to fire types, that much is well known. She could actually kill the shinigami and start a war. I wasn't interested in those smallfry, I just wanted the beautiful goddess!
I scowled, "Nee-san!!" I exclaimed, "Why would you release your zanpakuto for me? I don't need your help!!"
"Captain Kenpachi of Squad 11, in the name of Captain-Commander Yamamoto, I order you to stand down." Nee-san said firmly, "Otherwise, you shall force me to engage you in battle."
"Oi, girl, you have no idea what you're doing!!!" the other shinigami drew their blades
I gritted my teeth, "Enough." I said seriously as I readied my blade, "Nee-san, out of the way!!"
"This is enough...." Kenpachi said simply as she sheathed her blade, "We're standing down.....we cannot pick a fight with Squad 1....we are fellow Gotei after all...."
"Captain, you attacked the kid, though..." one of them said
"Silence." She coldly said before looking over to me, "You, boy..."
I raised an eyebrow, "Hm?"
"My name is Yachiru Unohana..." she said, "I see great strength in you.....grow stronger....."
"And you might be a worthy challenge."
