The Sword God's Wives and Concubines: Rewind: Aunt Senjumaru Shutara
🕑 Added 2024-05-04 03:53:26 +0000 UTC(Genryujin's POV)
"What's this?" I said as I sniffed the cup
"Hey." Aunt Senjumaru said with a firm scowl, "Do not insult me by sniffing my black tea."
I slowly set it down, "I don't like tea." I said
"You will." She said as she slapped my hand with one of her prosthetic arms, "Drink." f
I looked at the cup, it was steaming hot. Aunt Senjumaru and her cups of scolding hot tea were something only the bravest of shinigami were willing to endure.
I grimaced, "I...I don't know..." I said, "Aunt, I'm hungry....you said you were bringing food."
I then saw as she lift several wrapped boxes with her other arm as she gave me a smug smile, "Oh, I did." She said, "But you won't get anything if you don't drink the entire cup."
"You're cruel, Aunt." I frowned
"Do it." She said seriously
I sighed, picked up the cup, and drank from it, gulping down the hot tea. It went down smoothly but burned hot, which was a stupid combination.
"Amazing~" She said happily, "Now, we can eat."
In an instant, I saw as the table in front of was full of placed plates of food.
I raised an eyebrow, "As always, you're fast." She said
"Yes." She said, "Now, eat, my child."
I looked at her, "We're not waiting on Nee-san?"
"No." She said with a smile, "She's already here."
"I'm sorry, Grandfather, Aunt called...." I heard Sis's voice from the outside
"Damn it, Shirahoshi, you're supposed to keep the men in line till I get back!" I heard Gramps exclaim, "I gotta go then, go and eat!"
"Sorry~" She said as she walked through the door, "Aunt Senjumaru~~"
Aunt smiled brightly, "Ah, my dear Shirahoshi~" She said, "Come sit, we're about to eat."
"Did you bring tea?" Nee-san said as she sat down next to me, "I love your black tea~"
"Of course." Aunt served her a cup in a split-second, "Unlike your brother, you do appreciate my tea."
I frowned, "I don't like Tea in general, Aunt..." I muttered
"Be respectful of our Aunt, Gen..." Shirahoshi scolded as she picked her cup up, "She's going out of her way to come down and spend time with us, we won't get these kinds of chances!"
I sighed, "I guess so."
"Gen...." Nee-san said, "If you-"
"It's okay, Dear." Aunt said, "Be easy on your brother."
"I am." Nee-san said, "He can be difficult sometimes. But.....he's my precious Gen-chan~"
She patted my shoulder and squeezed it gently.
"Your brother is struggling internally, Shirahoshi." Aunt Senjumaru said, "His Zanpakuto training is going poorly, I hear."
"Of course you did...." I muttered
"But his swordsmanship is improving." Nee-san said, "He's really skilled. I think he can fight hollows by himself know."
"I know I can." I told Nee-san, "I don't need you nor Gramps protecting me!"
"I'll take you up on that, Nephew." Aunt said, "I'll take you tomorrow to hunt some Menos Grande, like you said you can fight."
"Wait, a Menos?" Nee-san said, "Isn't he too inexperienced for that?!"
"I can handle it." I said firmly, "Aunt, may I eat? I'm hungry."
"Of course, my dear." She said, "Eat, love, eat till you're full."
I clapped my hands and bowed slightly, "Thank you for the meal." I said before beginning to eat
"Gen, Grandfather wants you to climb the ranks of his Squad." Nee-san said, "For that to happen, you must awaken your Zanpakuto. I'll help you on your training if you want."
"I'm okay..." I said as I ate some rice, "I am strong enough to rise to 3rd Seat without Zanpakuto awakening."
She frowned, "That's Sasakibe's rank." She said, "He's older than us, remember."
"And you're above him." I said, "So what? He's strong, sure, but I can replace him. Not like I will, I respect him too much."
"Hm.." I heard Aunt say, "Interesting, I do want to see you fight, my dear Nephew."
"Show me your strength."
*************************************************
"These are Gillians?" I said as the colossal body collapsed before disintegrating, "I've heard of them, only. Didn't know they were this weak..."
I turned to see the other disintegrating bodies as they were in the ground.
"Amazing." As she clapped with her prosthetic arms, Aunt said, "Your swordsmanship is incredible, Genryujin. That was truly remarkable, I got goosebumps~"
We were in a Rukongai district, in the far outskirts of Soul Society. Aunt Senjumaru had lured several Menos Grande for me to fight. I knew that if they proved too much for me, she and Nee-san would interfere. But they weren't, I handled them by myself.
I looked at her as I sheathed my sword, "That's...." I said, "That's a lot of hype for me...."
She walked over, "You don't understand, Genryujin." She said, "You're not using KIdo, nor a Shikai. And you're not that injured from fighting 4 Gillians at once. Using your pure swordsmanship, you've defeated them with ease!"
"Gen!" I heard Nee-san call out for me, "Grandfather has found out!"
She ran to me and decided to stand behind Aunt as she bent over and panted heavily; she must've been running for a good bit.
I then saw as Gramps approached with a group of his men behind him.
"Genryujin!" He shouted with a scowl, "What in the hell are you doing?!"
"Oh, hey Gramps." I said with a smile, "I just fought some Menos and killed them."
He stopped a few meters away from me before looking at Aunt, "Senjumaru, you fool." He growled, "You dare bring my Grandson all the way out here, for what? For target practice?!"
"The fool is you, Genryusai." Aunt said, "You're holding him back, that imprint of fear that you've given him."
I frowned, "Fear...?"
"Fool? I am a Fool?" Gramps said with an angry scowl
"Genryujin is capable of fighting several Gillians by himself, clearly a feat only a high-level Shinigami could do." She said, "You're not aware of how strong the boy is, Genryusai, that's why you're a fool. He did it with pure swordsmanship, Foolish man...."
"It is because you're my daughter's sister-in-law...." Gramps growled, "The only reason I allow you to speak to me like this, in front of my men, in front of her children!!"
"Silence!!" Aunt shouted, "They are my brother's children!! My brother who fought and bled for you!! My brother who took a blade for you and died!!! How dare you speak to me like I don't care for them, I love them with all my heart!! And this boy, this strong and magnificent boy, you're holding him back, keeping him cooped up like scared little mouse!! I will not have it, Genryusai, you're keeping him from finding himself!!"
"That is enough!" Gramps shouted, "I demand that you return to Ichibei-dono and back to the Soul Palace, do not tell me how to raise my family!"
"Hey..." I said as I took a step
"Both of you please!" Nee-san stepped between them, "Please, not in front of Genryujin!"
I frowned, "I'm not a little kid...." I muttered
"Genryujin, to me." Gramps said firmly
I sighed, "Okay..." I said as I took a step
Aunt extended one of her arms, "No. Stay with me, child." She said, "You will not instill fear in this boy anymore, Yamamoto."
Gramps narrowed his eyes, "That is enough." He said, "Shirahoshi, bring me your brother, now. That is an order as your Captain."
Shirahoshi looked at me, "S-Sorry, Gen...." She said with a sad look
It was at this point where I have had it with this bullshit. Everyone treated me like a little kid, telling me what to do and what was right and wrong. When will I be allowed to grow up? To pick my own battles, to walk on my own fucking feet.
I'm not some punk, I'm Yamamoto Genryujin!
I scowled, "You know what? Fuck this shit." I said as I turned around and began to walk the other direction, "You all are starting to piss me the fuck off."
"Genryujin!" Gramps called out to me, "Where are you going?"
Suddenly, I was surrounded by several of his men, they had used Shunpo to get here.
I frowned, "Really?" I said as I stopped
I turned to see Aunt Senjumaru giving me a smile, "That's right, my child. Do not let these fools restrain your free will like this." She said, "You are no longer a Canary trapped in a cage."
"Kid." one of the shinigami said, "Don't make us use force. We know you're the Captain's grandkid but-"
I interrupted him with a punch to the jaw, sending him flying, "Shut the fuck up!" I shouted, "Who the fuck do you assholes think you are?! Standing in my way like I'm some fucking brat!"
"O-Oi!" one of the others said as I drew my blade
"Genryujin!" I heard Nee-san call out to me
"You want to surround me? Draw your blades, fuckers, I'll cut you lot down!" He said, "You think I can't handle myself? I'm Genryujin, You'll fucking remember that name for eternity!!"
They all drew their blades as I readied my stance, releasing my Reiatsu, shaking the ground.
"C-Captain, Vice-Captain!" one of them said, "What do we do?!"
"Take him. By force." Gramps said
"Do not let them take you, Gen." Aunt said
I closed my eyes and let out a breath, concentrating. Everything around me began to quiet down as I heard a clear voice in my head.
"The Blade is everything...."
I opened my eyes to see that I was several meters past where the guys where. I straightened up and turned around, seeing them all on the ground, clutching their sides as blood poured out.
"Guys!" Nee-san exclaimed as she ran up to the group
I looked at them, I noticed that I cut them pretty well, avoiding their vitals and only damaged them to the point that they couldn't move.
They groaned in pain, not moving.
"It's okay...." Nee-san said as she began to use Kaido on them, "I'll close the wounds..."
Aunt Senjumaru began clapping, "Magnificent." She said, "You surgically cut them down, trying to avoid hurting them permanently."
"That was foolish, Genryu-kun." I heard a voice behind me
I turned to see Chojiro-san standing behind me, his blade drawn.
He was going to be tough to deal with.
"Genryujin!" I turned to see Gramps walking past the fallen men, "You've done it now...."
I scowled, "What're you going to do?" I asked as he stood in front of me
He gave me a serious look, "Hm....." He said, "It is clear. You're stronger than I thought. Go home, now. Get some sleep, tomorrow you show up at my Squad's barracks. I shall send you on a mission to the northern Rukongai districts."
"You're kidding...." I said, "I just said that...."
"Silence." He said, "You're still but a child, my grandson. But your Aunt is right, I cannot restrain you in an attempt to protect you."
He then turned around and walked away as Chojiro-san followed.
"Okay..." I muttered
Aunt walked up to me, "Beautiful, that was simply beautiful." She said, "You've displayed but a portion of your true skill, my dear nephew. These men were no pushovers, Genryujin. You're stronger than them, that's for sure. Your Grandfather has now seen that."
"Hm...." I said looking down, "Aunt....I hate it...."
"Hate what?" She asked
"Hate these rules....hate these boundaries...." I said looking up, "Why must I be confined to the laws of these people? I can tell, that I'll soon grow stronger than anyone else.....I don't have my Shikai nor my Bankai....but......I can tell.....that I can grow even stronger...."
She placed her hand on my shoulder, "Balance, my dear." She said, "It is the will of the Soul King....the worlds, everything in this Universe, it must have a balance. If an anomaly like yourself decides to go against the balance, Chaos will ensue."
"I'm an anomaly?" I asked her
She smiled, "The moment you were born....I knew....." She said, "You were different.....Fated to be stronger than anyone in this place.....Your potential.... it's boundless..."
"Doesn't feel that way..." I said
She leaned in and kissed me on the forehead, "My dear nephew, a spitting image of your father, my brother..." She said with a smile, "Soon you'll understand......and please, do not think like a rebel...."
"Becoming an enemy of the Soul King is a death sentence...."
