(Genryujin's POV)
"Ah!" I yelped as I felt a splash of water hit my face, "Who the hell-"
I opened my eyes to see Sis look down at me with a scowl, "Gen!" She exclaimed, "You missed the meeting! Why are you still asleep?!"
I slowly sat up as I groaned, "Sis....." I said as I wiped the water off my face, "Why did you throw water at me...."
"To wake you, obviously..." She said, "You have a lot of nerve, to think I would cover for you...and you're here asleep! Grandfather is angry!"
I waved her off, "Ah, it's fine." I said, "I was just tired."
"You're the 3rd Seat!" She said, "You have a responsibility!"
I chuckled, "Relax." I said as I slowly got up, "You take things too seriously, Sis."
"And you don't." She growled with annoyance, "Sometimes I feel like letting Grandfather punish you severely."
I rubbed my neck, "What was the meeting about? Something boring I bet." I said as I straightened up, "Don't bother me about some dumb stuff."
"Dumb stuff?" She raised her eyebrows, "There have been many disappearances in the Rukongai districts, many souls have suddenly vanished. Not only that, Hollows have been completely exterminated in the Human World."
"Isn't that a good thing?" I said
"Not cleansed, Gen." She said seriously, "Obliterated, it's messing with the balance."
I frowned, "What are you saying?" I said, "You mean those Human Tribe guys? Quincies?"
She shrugged, "I don't know." She said, "But Grandfather means to put a group together, he's having a Captain's meeting. The second one since the last time he gathered those people together. He wants to have someone check it out."
I nodded, "Alright then." I said
"Gen." She said seriously, "If you would've shown up at the meeting, he would've nominated you to lead the expedition, but you screwed that up for yourself!!"
"Calm down." I said, "I was really tired, okay?"
"Where were you last night?" She asked with a scowl, "Reports say you snuck out at midnight."
I smiled as I began to walk away, "Oh, you know."
"Having some fun."
***********************************************
I walked through a group of bushes, out in the outskirts of the Sereitei, where a certain Squad was currently camping out.
"Oi." I heard a gruff voice, "It's Genryujin."
I looked up to see several rough-looking Shinigami grouped up in a clearing, they were eyeing me up and down. There was a massive sense of hostility coming from them, even if they knew it was me that was coming.
I mean, I ain't surprised, this was the wildest Squad in the Gotei. And that's saying something, all of these people are crazy, the ones in my Squad included. But my Grandfather is disciplining them hard, though. His influence is slowly expanding out of Squad 1 and towards the other Squads but this one in particular is far from being sorted out.
I raised an eyebrow, "We got a problem?" I asked as I placed my hand on the handle of my blade, "Easy on your hostile stares."
They all then looked away as they gulped.
"N-No..." One of them said, "Go on ahead."
They took a step back, allowing me to walk through.
I nodded, "Right." I said, "If you hear screams or laughter, pay no mind. This is the usual."
"Yea...." One of them said, "After last night, you think you can handle it?"
I smirked as I walked past them, "You underestimating me?" I asked, "I ain't no weakling."
I heard their sighs of shock as I walked straight ahead, under the shade of the thick trees. As I walked towards the end of the path, I felt an overwhelming sense of excitement, deep in my stomach. Every fiber of my body was looking forward to what I was about to do.
As I reached another clearing, I felt an intense pressure, one of pure bloodlust. As thick and powerful it was, I had gotten used to it. It was addicting, mesmerizing, it was.......bliss.
I smiled as I saw the long black hair of the most beautiful woman in the world, she was right in front of me, sitting on a log with her back to me. The overwhelming bloodlust was exuding from her, the one that awoke the beast of war within me.
I took a step forward, my body feeling heavy from said excitement.
As I did this, she spoke.
"How's your chest?" Unohana said
Her voice was cold, calm, and somewhat soothing.
I raised an eyebrow, "My chest?" I asked
"It was quite the deep wound I gave you." She said, "I thought you wouldn't be able to move all day."
I smiled, "You think that was going to stop me from seeing you today?" I said as I rubbed my chest, "You think so lowly of me."
She stood up, her long and lush hair waving slightly in the breeze.
"Impressive." She said as she slowly turned around, "Maybe I ought to learn healing arts, in case I do need to heal you when I cut you too deep."
I saw her cold and beautiful eyes, so full of lust for blood. It excited me. Everything about this woman filled me with Joy, I couldn't explain why. I snuck away from Sis and Gramps sight every chance I got to fight her. We will fight constantly and hard, to the point I am riddled with scars that take so long to go away.
My body is a strong one but she breaks it with ease.
Was this Love? Did I love her?
"Healing Arts?" I said with a smile, "What for? For your fights to last longer? That might work....with weaklings....Not with me. I don't need healing."
"Hm." Yachiru said as she walked over to me, "Let me see...."
She placed her hand on my chest, her cold and soft touch gave me chills throughout my body.
"Quite....." She said softly, "Spectacular........your body is so strong, so.....perfect.....your wound is already fully closed......"
I tilted my head, "We gonna fight or we gonna flatter each other?"
She looked up at me with a cold stare, "Hm." She said
She then placed her hand on my cheek, taking me off guard.
"Huh?" I said
I couldn't even flinch. Normally, I would, but this took me so off-guard that I just stood there frozen.
"Why must we fight?" She said softly, "Just for today, Genryujin...."
"We can talk."
