"Hey." I walked up to Mavis in the briefing room, "Everything alright?"
"No..." She said with a worried look, "All of the borders have been breached....the enemy are advancing inland..."
She was facing the big screen, looking up at the map of Fiore and all the enemies' location. I could see the Northern and Eastern fronts have been breached and the forces have pushed through, symbolized by the long and red rectangles.
I nodded, "That's true..." I said before looking at her, "And what's he doing?"
I was referring to Erion, who was in Mavis's arms, with his head against her chest as he sucked on a pacifier. He was looking at me with his big black eyes just staring at me casually.
"Oh, he had woken up and you were speaking to Levy at the time." She told me, "He wanted to be held."
"Hm." I said, "He's feeling okay?"
She nodded with a smile, "Yes." She said, "His body is at a normal temperature and he no longer has a fever. The procedure worked like a charm."
"I see." I said, "Shouldn't have doubted Felicity after all...."
Erion then blinked and took out his pacifier out of his mouth, "Aaaa..." He said, "Uuuu..."
I raised an eyebrow, "What?" I said, "Something I said?"
"Uuuiiii...." He said
Mavis chuckled, "I guess he's telling you he's okay." She said, "Aren't you, darling?"
"Hm, is that so?" I said, "Hey, buddy, next time, don't turn into a dragon and fly headfirst into danger like that, okay? I can tell you understand my words, Erion. So do me that favor, will ya?"
He blinked, "Aaa..." He said with a frown
I patted him on the head, "Don't worry your old man like that again." I said with a smile, "You're too young to be fighting.....literally. I don't care if you're a big and strong dragon."
"Trust me, Jason." Mavis said, "That won't happen again. I thought of a way to keep him from rampaging out again."
"Is that so?" I said looking at her, "What is it?"
"I won't tell you in front of him, he's a bit too smart for that." She said, "Besides, it's a bit questionable but harmless."
I nodded, "Okay..." I said crossing my arms, "I trust you....."
"Yo, Jason!" I heard Natsu call out
I turned to see him walking up to me with Lucy behind him. I noticed Lucy had a frown on her face, which isn't good. That and Natsu had a smirk on his face so that could only mean he's up to no good.
"What?" I asked
"Oh, is Erion okay?" Natsu asked as he leaned into him trying to poke Erion's cheek, "How are ya doing-Ahhhh!!!"
Erion bit his finger once again.
"Jason, Master Mavis, please help me get some sense into him...." Lucy said, "Happy and I are telling him to stay put..."
"Aye...." Happy said as he stood behind Lucy, "I'm worried about him...."
l looked at Natsu, "What's this about?"
Natsu looked at me, "We haven't heard back from Erza's group and I heard that the northern and easter sides have been overrun." He said as he punched the air, "I wanna go and fight!!"
Mavis frowned, "I don't know, Natsu." She said, "I might need you here.."
Natsu looked at her, "Whyyyy?" He said disappointedly, "You got Jason here! He's super strong!"
I turned to see the screen, "Hold that thought." I said, "Let's review our choices here....."
Mavis turned around as well, "I forgot to mention, Jason." She told me, "Those forces that Zeref had taken to regroup, he's scattered them all over the Western side of the country."
I saw what she was referring to. On the western side of the map, there were massive red rectangles scattered throughout that side of the country.
I raised an eyebrow, "I see..." I said, "Seems he's not taking any chances anymore. Doesn't want to get bombarded heavily like last time. Also, look, to the north-west.....those could be Dimaria's forces stationed there....."
To the North-West, far above the western forces, there was another set of red rectangles. I assume they are the forces that retreated from Hargeon. I believe they must've regrouped into there and have slowly made their way to that spot.
"Yes..." Mavis said, "As for the Eastern front.....they're still in a deadlock against the forces....but I'm afraid they won't hold out much longer. Makarov has instructed the magic council to retreat if victory isn't possible. As for that side, a fleet of Airships have managed to get past and have slowly advanced...."
I looked at the eastern side, she was right, they're locked in a battle. I wasn't that worried since the Wizard Saints were there with a whole army of magic council mages, but that didn't guarantee victory if August was there.
"Hm..." I said, "That's not good."
"And the Northern forces have stationed right past the border." Mavis continued, "It's a matter of time before they advance and our forces continue the battle....One of the enemy has access to magic-bane particles which is a huge problem.."
"That ain't good." Lucy said
"Yea..." Natsu said, "Magic bane particles...that's the poison, right?"
"Aye." Happy said
I nodded, "Don't worry about that." I said, "I am preparing countermeasures for that. Once Felicity completes the updates on The Nemesis's defense systems, I'll have her on that."
Mavis looked at me, "And Natsu's right." She said, "We haven't heard from Erza's group. You did send the airships to them, right?"
"Yea...." I said, "That is odd....."
"You don't think something happened...." Lucy asked
I looked at the map, trying to think of what would've happened to them. I relocated them only a couple of miles away from Hargeon and sent the ships to them. The signal from them had disappeared, which can only mean one thing.
They were ambushed.....
"Hm..." I said, "This is not the ideal situation to be in..."
I then looked at Magnolia, realizing that Alvarez is still targeting Fairy Tail. They don't know that Mavis is on the Nemesis. Ajeel only attacked because it was the source of they heavy bombardments.
The Airships....
"Ah shit..." I said aloud,
"This ain't good."
