"You sacrificed the town???" Mavis exclaimed, "Why would you do that?!"
They were in the briefing room, looking at the massive screen that displayed the impact zones of the Hellfire missiles that Jason deployed.
Jason looked at it, noticing that the majority of the 20,000 soldiers that were marching to aid had gotten away and didn't get damaged at all. They were retreating though, he assumed they didn't want to stick around for more missiles to strike them.
Mavis walked up to him, with a scowl on her face, "Jason!"
Jason looked at her, "What?" He said
"Why would you do something like that?" She asked, "That was years of history there, that town. How could you just destroy it?!"
Jason sighed, "Like I told the others." He said, "Towns can be rebuilt. It was a necessary sacrifice."
Everyone was looking at them. The rest of the fairy tail members that were there were very surprised at Jason's decision to bombard the entire town to just finish off the rest of the forces there. Everyone but Lucy and Wendy, who were outside on the deck with Erion enjoying the sight. They were unaware of Jason's decision.
"You can't be serious, Jason!" She said, "What if-"
"What if what?" Jason cut her off, "What if there were civilians there? Well, there wasn't. I made sure of it. When I spoke to the King of the country about my plan to evacuate everyone to safety, I told him of the possibility of the cities and towns being destroyed. And guess what, he understood. I'll say it again, Towns can be rebuilt, so long as the people are alive and well, I couldn't give two shits about how many empty cities I destroy to win."
Mavis didn't say anything to this, she merely looked at Jason with a shocked face. She was taken aback at Jason's conviction. She knew that he was willing to do whatever it took to win but she didn't expect for this.
Jason turned around, "The Magic Council members that were there with Erza's group." He said, "They fell in battle. Before relocating Erza's group, I relocated their bodies safely so they could be buried. Make no mistake Mavis, I'm doing this for you. Everything I do is to keep them from getting to you. It doesn't matter how I do it, I'll keep my promise."
Mavis looked down, "O-Okay..." She said softly
"This is War." Jason continued, "And as far as I can tell, we're winning."
As he said that, the speakers in the room began to static loudly.
"S-Sir.....!@#$@##$!!!!" Felicity's distorted voice could be heard
Jason looked up, "W-What's wrong?!" He said
He was reminded of the Blue Screen's malfunctioning. He knew something was wrong with Felicity right away.
"J_____J-J....Jammer...." Felicity's voice was drowned out by static, "C___Cann-ot take control of...ship....#%!!@$!$#!#...autopilot, stationary mode!!"
Jason ran to a terminal, "Shit!!" He said as he looked at the screen, "She's being jammed!!"
Everyone became alarmed immediately. This could only mean one thing; they were being attacked.
Mavis ran up behind him, "What does that mean?!"
Jason was clicking several buttons, "She doesn't have control of the ship!" Jason said as he was clicking on buttons, "I'm trying to take control from here, the control room is too far! Shit!"
Mavis widened her eyes, "Oh no!"
Jason leaned in and widened his eyes, "Fuck! All defenses are down!!" He exclaimed, "I gotta go to the control room and manually turn them back on!"
As he said this, the entire ship shook violently as an explosion was heard. They all turned to see smoke and flames at the far end of the deck, one of the cannons was partially destroyed. They all then saw several airships slowly fly towards them.
They were being attacked by a fleet.
Mavis looked out, "Oh no!" She said, "E-Erion!"
Jason gritted his teeth, "Dammit!!" He said, "Natsu!!"
Natsu, who was standing in the far side of the room, had stumbled due to the explosion.
"E-Eh?" He said
"I'm the only one that can work the controls.....shit..." Jason said while sweating, "Go outside and get Lucy inside with the baby, now!! There's no time!!"
Jason turned around and began to run.
Natsu nodded, "Yea!" He said, "I'm on it!!!"
He then bolted and made his way outside an open panel in the windows.
Juvia and Cana looked at Mavis, "W-What do we do?" Juvia asked
Mavis turned to see the radar, they saw several ships had surrounded the Nemesis, at least 40 of them were slowly making their way.
"I....I don't know..." Mavis said, "How did they get to us? And Felicity is being jammed....."
Cana gritted her teeth, "If only we were taught how to work the weapons to fight back..." She said
Mavis turned around and saw one airship right next to the Nemesis and several soldiers were boarding onto the deck.
"G-Go and hold the enemy off!" Mavis said, "Quickly, before they overrun the deck!"
The Fairy Tail members quickly ran outside without hesitation to clash with the enemy as they were swarming from the first airship.
Natsu, who was running towards Lucy, engulfed his fist in flames as he jumped into the air.
"Ooooo!!!!" He exclaimed
He swung his fist down and fired a beam of flames at the soldiers, causing a massive explosion of flames that sent everyone flying.
Lucy, who was holding Erion tightly, had a panicked look on her face.
"How did this happen?!!" She exclaimed, "Erion-kun, cover your ears!!"
Off into the distance, aboard one of the airships, at the front of the deck, Ajeel stood with a maniacal smirk. He was watching as another airship got close to the ship and soldiers swarmed the deck, engaging in battle with the Fairy Tail mages.
"Hehehe!!" He said, "You think you could stay in the air like this for that long?! You're not the only ones with magic radars, you fucking assholes!! Even if you're cloaked, we can still trace the trajectory of the missiles back to their original location!!"
He then looked to the side, there was a massive gray airship that had massive a massive satellite dish on it that was pointed at the Nemesis and emitting waves of light.
"Hehe!" Ajeel continued, "And with the help of this Jammer ship, I can disable your massive ship's defenses, no matter how powerful it's artillery could be. They're useless if they don't work!! This is payback for wrecking my ships, assholes! I, The Desert King Ajeel, will blow you all away!!!"
Back on The Nemesis, in the control room, Jason was working several controls with sweat on his forehead.
"Shit!" He cursed, "Should've had Felicity give them lessons on how to run this thing! Damn, We'll learn from our mistakes now! Dammit!! I got the autopilot on stationary mode. Just have to turn on the anti-artillery automatic defense system if I can't deploy the barriers...and the automatic artilleries..."
As he was working the controls, he noticed a strange ship, aside from the Jammer ship that he had already spotted. It was a massive galleon airship that was dark red, it slowly got closer. Jason looked at it and noticed it had a massive and long cannon protruding from the front.
It began to charge up an immense amount of magic power, alarming Jason.
"Shit!" He exclaimed
On Ajeel's ship, The Desert King smirked.
"Ha!" He said, "You ain't the only one that has crazy firepower! This is the power of Alvarez's military might!! Hey! Tell the ships behind it to clear the way, this Saturn: Maximum Cannon will pierce right through it!!"
He was referring to his men who nodded and began to speak through communication devices. Shortly after, the ships behind The Nemesis moved out the way, leaving a massive open space behind the war-fortress.
Ajeel smiled as the Saturn: Maximum Cannon had fully charged.
"Fire." He commanded
Suddenly, the Cannon opened fire, sending a massive crimson beam of magic energy.
Inside the Nemesis, Mavis widened her eyes in shock at the incoming cannon beam. She was speechless, unknowing of what to do in this situation. Even those who were fighting on the deck noticed the beam and froze, seeing the immense attack shoot straight towards them.
"Airspace: Divert"
Right as the beam was about to connect, the space around it began to warp and distort, bending the massive energy beam and diverting it around the Nemesis, shooting straight to the back open space behind it. It didn't even make it further than that as it detonated into a massive explosion that dwarfed the Nemesis itself.
Ajeel raised his eyebrow, "What the fuck?!" He said, "Something diverted the cannon beam? Shit...."
A soldier walked up to him, "Sir." He said, "The Saturn: Maximum Cannon will take around 5 minutes to recharge it's power for another shot."
Ajeel scowled, "Fuck." He said, "Whatever. All ships, open fire, use our regular firepower on it. At least until we have another round ready."
The soldier nodded, "Yessir."
Shortly after, the ships began to open fire at the Nemesis. But as soon as they did, the Nemesis began to fire back, shooting projectiles that collided against the enemy's.
In the control room, Jason was panting slightly, "Damn..." He said, "That was close....I didn't think I'd divert it in time...."
He then clicked on a button and accessed the loudspeakers all over the ship.
"Everyone!" Jason said, "The anti-artillery defense system is active, hold off the enemy until I get the barriers and artillery cannons online."
On the deck, everyone was fighting off the waves of soldiers that had boarded. Natsu was blowing the majority away with ease, using his immense firepower. Jason saw this from above, the control room being at the highest point.
Jason then looked at the jammer ship.
'I need that ship destroyed' he thought to himself, 'Then Felicity can take control again and the Nemesis can deal with the ships and I'll handle the Shield. It's Ajeel, isn't it? They were cloaked after all....'
He clicked on the transmission button again, "Natsu!!" He called
Natsu stopped and looked up, "Huh?" He said
"You see the ship with the massive satellite dish?" Jason asked through the intercom
Natsu looked over to the ships that were in midair, "Uhm...." He said, "Which one....what's a satellite???"
Happy who was flying around, "I see it, Jason!" He said, "What do you need?"
"Natsu! Destroy it!" Jason said, "Happy, take him there, full speed!!"
Happy nodded and saluted, "Aye Sir!!!" He said before immediately flying towards Natsu and grabbing him, "Let's go Natsu!!"
Natsu was taken aback, "Oh!" He said, "Okay!"
Jason watched as Natsu and Happy flew past the soldiers on the deck and made a beeline towards the jammer ship, avoiding cannon fire from other ships.
He then looked down to see Lucy in the middle of the crowded deck, holding Erion in her arms.
"Shit!" He said, "She's still there, dammit!!"
He looked at the screens, the defenses still needed more to come back up and he couldn't get off the controls otherwise the reboot would reset. He wasn't sure what to do, he was contemplating a lot of things but the stress was getting to him.
Before he could do anything, there was a massive explosion of black light on the deck. It shook the entire ship and even caused him to stumble.
"What the..." He said before feeling an immense magic power, "Oh....oh no...."
On the deck, the majority of the soldiers and the Fairy Tail Mages were on the ground, caused by the explosion.
Lucy was on her knees when she looked up at a massive figure engulfed in a massive dark aura that let out a deep and loud growl.
Both she and Wendy, who was next to her, widened their eyes in shock and fear, feeling the intense and powerful magic coming from it.
"L-Lucy-san!" Wendy exclaimed
Mavis, who had walked out through the glass panels, looked at Erion who was in his dragon form, looming over the soldiers and the Fairy Tail mages.
Erion looked up and had his gaze set upon the ship with the massive cannon.
He extended his wings outward, letting out a massive air pressure that pushed everyone on the deck down, opening his mouth and gathering an immense amount of black light.
Jason noticed this, "What is he doing?" He said
He still couldn't do anything, stuck on the control panels that required him to keep the rebooting to continue.
Erion then slammed his arms down and fired off a massive beam of black light, causing a shockwave that pushed everyone down again.
The beam shot straight toward the ship with the Saturn cannon and directly hit it, causing a massive explosion that completely obliterated it with ease.
Happy and Natsu who were near the jammer ship, felt the powerful shockwave caused by the explosion as they looked at it with shocked faces.
They weren't the only ones that were shocked by this, everyone that was on the deck, friend and foe alike were frozen in shock, seeing the massive cloud of flames and smoke that dwarfed all of the airships.
Ajeel, who was watching this, was sweating, "W-What...." He said in complete disbelief, "It....it's that....It's that fucking dragon!!!"
Erion then flapped his wings, launching himself up far into the air above the Nemesis, and let out a deafening roar that released a thick and dark aura.
Mavis, who was covering her face with her arms, was completely in disbelief at this. To them, despite knowing that Erion was a dragon, it was still surreal to experience his power. Especially since just shortly ago, he was but a human baby.
Jason who was watching this couldn't help but smirk slightly, "He's displaying his dominance, eh?" He said to himself, "What a rascal...."
Erion stopped his roar and straightened himself, flapping his wings as he stayed afloat. He then fixed his gaze upon the ship that Ajeel was on.
He narrowed his eyes and let out a deep growl.
Ajeel composed himself and scowled angrily, "You stupid fucking dragon..." He growled, "Come!!!"
"I'll fucking kill you myself!!!"
