Jason was clad in dark steel armor that emitted a powerful aura and dark smoke that had embers in it. The amount of ominous power emanating from the armor was enough to make even Erza and Kagura nervous. Even the young Dragon, Erion, was feeling uneasy from this.
Irene raised her eyebrows, surprised by the sudden spike in Jason's power. She was sure that Jason was badly wounded, but despite that, he was more than willing to show resistance.
"Oh?" Irene said, "You think you can fight with your body in that condition, Jason?"
Jason extended his arm outward, "The armor will stitch my wounds back together." He said through the helm, "Don't worry about me."
"Black Blade: Yoru"
Suddenly, a katana appeared in Jason's hand, it had a black handle and dark grey hilt, with a black sheath.
Jason took a step forward and unsheathed the blade, revealing the black blade. He readied a stance as he released a black aura.
"Get ready." Jason managed, "I am going to attack now."
Irene smiled, "Erion." She said, "Step back, mommy will get to work now."
Erza looked at Jason, "Jason, your wounds...." She said, "You can't fight!"
"Erza's right, Jason." Kagura said as she took a step, "Even with that powerful armor, your body won't be able to handle the strain!"
"I don't care!!" Jason growled as he lunged at Irene
Irene waved her staff, causing a massive blast of crimson energy to clash against Jason who swung his blade at the energy. The clash caused a massive shockwave that shook the earth, shattering the ground.
Kagura and Erza were shielding their eyes from this with their arms. It didn't take them long to realize that Jason had activated his God Slayer magic, combining it with the armor's magical power.
"Jason!!" Kagura exclaimed
Irene looked at this with a slight smile, "Interesting..." She said, "Your strength is nothing to joke about. Nevertheless, your body won't handle a prolonged battle."
Irene then slammed the bottom of her staff on the platform she stood on, causing a massive wave of crimson energy to erupt from her, rippling throughout the ground.
"High Enchantment: Ultima Eruptio "
The ground beneath them then molded itself into a fiery hellscape as magma and flames viciously erupted upwards, hitting them from underneath. Massive pillars of lava exploded upwards, the heat being so overwhelming that Kagura's clothes were being burnt.
"Shit!" Jason said as he stumbled
Kagura and Erza were caught in explosions of flames as Jason fell into a pool of lava.
"Jason!!!" Erza yelled
Kagura looked up to see Irene atop Erion who was beginning to take off, flying up into the sky.
"Erza! She's taking Erion!!" Kagura said as she ignored her scorched arm
"No!" Erza exclaimed
Jason emerged from the lava, his armor being scorched.
"Dammit!!" He growled, "Erion!!!"
Erion looked down to see his father, his eyes filled with a reluctant sadness. For some reason, he couldn't bring himself to disobey his mother, despite everything.
"Good boy, Erion." Irene said as she caressed his neck, "When we're back to my ship, you shall transform back to your human form. Don't worry, I won't let anyone hurt you. Not even His Majesty."
Erion then turned around and began to fly away, closing his eyes as he ignored his father's calls.
"Erion!!!!" Jason yelled out
"Can you undo this spell, Jason?" Kagura asked him, "This has so much power!!"
Jason's katana disappeared as he released a massive wave of dark power.
"Sage God's Enchantment: Reverse"
The hellscape that spanned almost a hundred meters in diameter was instantly reversed, transforming back to normal. Kagura and Erza stumbled on their feet, taken aback by the sudden change.
Jason, however, was on his back, his armor smoking and burning. He wasn't moving, the strain that was caused by Irene's spell was too much for him to handle at the time, and using his Sage God's enchantment caused even more strain.
"Jason!" Kagura exclaimed as she ran to him, "Are you okay?!"
The helm of his armor slowly disappeared, revealing his face covered in blood.
"Dammit...." Jason said as he winced, "I can't believe this happened....."
Kagura tried to touch the armor but the steel was scorching hot, preventing her from coming in contact with it.
Erza walked up to them, "Oh that's not good." She said, "Why'd you do that, Jason? You're in no condition to fight!!"
Jason scowled, "I ain't going to stand by and let her take my son!" He growled, "I had to do something!"
"Well doing this almost got you killed, Jason!" Kagura exclaimed, "Don't be so reckless!!"
As this happened, the ground around them instantly froze, causing Erza and Kagura to look up in alarm.
"Not him again!" Erza said as she raised her sword
Kagura stood back up, "What does he want?!"
They watched as Invel slowly walked up to them, "Now that Irene-san has what she came here for." He said, "I can do as I please with you."
Kagura glared at him, "You think you can take us both?" She said seriously, "Prepare yourself!!"
Invel fixed his glasses, "I am more than confident in my abilities." He said, "I will defeat the two of you and kill Jason. Delivering his corpse to His Majesty is a must."
He waved his hand, sending a wave of ice towards the group.
Almost instantly, however, it was met by a massive wave of black ice. As soon as they made contact, Invel's ice shattered instantly as an explosion of cold air and ice shards erupted.
"What?" He said, "Black Ice...? No way, it wasn't Jason."
"No." A voice said, "It wasn't."
Kagura and Erza turned to see Gray standing a couple of meters away from them, with his arm extended forwards.
"Gray!" Erza exclaimed with surprise, "Y-You're okay!"
Gray nodded, "More or less...." He said with a serious tone, "I came here to aid you guys."
Invel fixed his glasses again, "Interesting..." He said, "Your magic power....it's God Slayer Magic, is it not?"
Kagura widened her eyes, "God Slayer Magic?" she said, "Gray's a God Slayer?"
Gray nodded, "A brand new one...." He said as he readied an Ice Make stance, "Stand back, I haven't gotten the hang of it just yet...."
"Ice Make: Obsidian Spear!"
He waved his hand, firing off a barrage of black-ice spears. They shot straight at Invel who immediately disappeared.
Gray narrowed his eyes, "What the..."
"Perhaps this isn't a good time to do battle..." Invel's voice was heard, "A three on one with a God Slayer that can consume my power.....it is not ideal......."
Gray frowned, "Yea, I'd bet...." He said
Erza looked around, "He retreated?" she asked, "Then that must mean...."
Kagura nodded, "Either he's going to attack again or they've been ordered to retreat." she said, "We must stay on guard. How are the others doing? The other shield said she was going to attack them..."
Gray turned to look at them, "Natsu's going crazy at the moment." He said, "They're fine."
Jason slowly stood up, "Gray...." He said as he struggled to stay standing, "What happ-"
He was interrupted by Gray's fist hitting him straight in the nose, sending him crashing back to the ground.
Kagura widened her eyes, "What the hell?!" she said reading a stance, "What's your deal?!"
"Gray!" Erza exclaimed, "What's the meaning of this!?"
Gray was scowling in anger, "You son of a bitch!!!" He yelled, "How fucking dare you!!!!"
Jason was wiping the blood off of his nose, "What?" He asked
Gray pointed at him, "You bastard! You kept it from me!" He said, "The fact my father was alive!! You kept it all from me!!!"
"I trusted you, Jason!!!"
