Lessons Learnt and Where Next
🕑 Added 2026-01-22 16:01:17 +0000 UTCHey folks, you're reading this because you are one of the wonderful people who's signed up to be part of the Hellfire club and I wanted to reach out to you with a bit of an update on a couple of things.
Firstly I made a bit of a boo-boo regarding the last video's release and a couple of folks, perfectly reasonably, got in touch because they'd signed up in the window where the Dresden Part 1 video was embargo'd by YouTube, which they found frustrating. I am genuinely sorry about that, in hindsight my lack of clarity over video exclusively isn't really OK. This was, for a long time, a fairly small group of folks who kind of know me through Discord and are probably a bit more forgiving of my idiosyncratic scheduling. But as we've grown, I need to be a bit more professional, or at least considerate, of what people might want. YouTube has decided that uploading things twice is Naughty, and I don't want to fall foul of the algorithm, plus my ego is sufficiently big that it's nice to have a bigger number of viewers on a video, hence only uploading once recently and not doing what I used to do and giving Patreons access to the 1st draft. I aslo admit to a case of 'go fever' when I've been working on a project for 6-8 weeks and wanting to get it into the world, which made me move fairly fast last time. So here's the deal from now on - I'll put the video onto Patreon 48hrs before it goes on YT as a minimum, which hopefully will address all those issues at once. Hopefully that's cool with you guys.
Second thing; Dresden Part 2 has, somewhat inevitably, changed shape following Part 1. Plus I met a chap in London today who's asked me to....well, let's say bugger up my plans for a bit. So, I'm going to release Dresden Part 2 without wrapping up the whole Bomber War - that means it'll come sooner than I had planned, which is good, it's probably 70% done, not 30% done, and it'll tie up nicely, but it also means not drawing a close on all things Bomber War all tied up in a bow as, for reasons, I'll need to keep coming back to chapters of it over the next...dunno, year, two years, we'll see.
I want to try to do a couple of fun, shorter, videos and collabs on things like the Mossie, Lanc etc in the Spring and then we'll be off to Burma to wrap that campaign up, and then who knows....so lots more to come.

Are you talking about doing as Drachinifel does with his Drydock videos? He releases them to patreons (on youtube) 24h before they are made public.
