lol let me tell you during the previous video I watched (Simpsons xmas) I was gonna comment how different tv was still with the wholesomeness in the 80's.... and then I remembered Married with Children was next on the list haha! Wild contrast. You did great. I also wonder why she had that leg draped?!

Good point. If the business is only $18K, what did he do with the other $32K? Maybe paid off his parking tickets and the CC debt? I can't imagine the actress for the commercial got the $32K. Mind you, this was the 90's. Stuff was more affordable then. My generation still believed they would eventually get to finance their own whole house and build equity. Lol 😆 EDIT: My apologies. I spoke before the episode ended.

You should react to some ERBs. The Chanel is Epic Rap Battle of History on YouTube. They are so much fun .

I love how he has the stare of a serial killer during that first commercial. Some great lines in this show, pretty funny. "Lorax..."😆😆

Thanks for the reaction! MWC reactions are my favorite. Ed McMahon was a celebrity figure who would run a sweepstakes through the mail similar to Publisher's Clearinghouse. You would often get envelopes in the mail saying that you may have already won $10 million and you'd have to mail something back to get into a drawing and so on. So the joke is Ed McMahon sent Al an envelope saying that instead of Al winning that he may actually owe Ed McMahon $10 million. It's like the lottery in that most people never actually won, so when you got the envelope saying you may have already won, most people would not think they actually had won, thus Peg saying, "What are the chances that it's actually you?"

These are always a treat to watch you react to Blu :)

Blu and Al's simultaneous facepalm after the Kelly/phone joke was priceless.

The thumb screws we use today are screws that you can turn with your thumb and forefinger, like the ones on the back of your PC when you need to take the cover off. Al was referring to "medieval thumb screws", if you google that you'll understand. It's a metal device that clamps down on a persons thumbs or fingers. The torturer then turns a screw and begins to apply pressure for pain or breaking of bones or worse. So now we have the term "Putting the thumb screws on me" meaning, someone has power over you and is putting the pressure on you, which leads to another old saying, the person applying the pressure is: "The person who is turning the screw." The 555 number has been explained in the comments already, those digits pop up in a slew of old tv shows and movies. It's a good practice to have a fake number. The band Tommy Tutone had a hit song in 1981 with "867-5309/Jenny" which was a fake number he made up to fit the beat. But listeners actually dialed it and found out it was a real place which led to some legal controversy. Ack, now I can't get that song out of my head: *Eight Six Seven Five Three O Niii-eeeEEEEeee-iiine!* hehe Another great reaction Blu 👍

976 numbers were all paid call hotline type things back in the day (psychic hotlines, phone sex, etc.) so that's why the episode title is that. 555 is the prefix that tv and movies have decided to use. When this aired you probably wouldn't of known the episode title so there wouldn't of been any confusion. The 976-SHOE title isn't part of the episode, just the 555-SHOE number.
