Some Kinda Abomination

I love how Yoki paints his backstory in a “good light” and being tricked by Edward. Yoki was a shitty guy who ran the town very badly. Ed saved that town through it. This was an episode or 2 in the 2003 version. The rest was new for this show, him being at the Armstrong family mansion to rob it was not in the 2003 show. But I love it all the same having seen both versions.

The way I see the conversation between Kimblee and Winry is, Kimblee is not trying to play the "good guy" to Winry, he genuinely respects the Rockbell couple as they had embodied the codes and principles of being doctors. Kimblee is an interesting character that has a very particular moral code, he doesn't take sentiments as an excuse for deviating from principles. He is passionate about killing people and it happens to play into his role as a soldier, he expects others to be the same, to be completely dedicated to their roles without compromise, hence his respect to the Rockbells. He has nothing to gain for winning over Winry's heart anyway.
