I know this is a bit late in the show, but Xing is pronounced "shing". It's similar to how the X romanization in Chinese is pronounced, fun fact. So if you see the romanization of a Chinese word in the wild, it is in fact pronounced with an "SH" sound.

Yeah these subtitles are suspect. I'm guessing the licensing didn't include the subtitles so Netflix had to remake them and they went with MTL + shoddy review or something. Some phrases sound like a non-native speaker wrote them, like the exchange in the car: "You remember about that, huh?" .... "Don't try wrangling me!". Ugh. Yet another reason to watch the dub instead.

Yo, I swear these subtitles were not this bad on Netflix a few years ago. 17:44 - "None at all. Maybe it's my natural virus." HUH!? That's some low-effort BS translation right there. The Japanese literally translates to, "None at all. Maybe it's my natural charm." I have no idea where the word "virus" came from.
