Episode 12 really highlights the cruel and ironic side of committing human transmutation. Ed and Al wanted to bring back a family member and the toll that was paid was Ed's brother, teacher wanted to bring back her child and the toll that was paid were parts of her reproductive organs. All of this and the transmutation will still fail in the end.
