After just reading the light novel, I am very surprised by this episode. They pretty much managed to fit a single volume in this one episode. There was the scene of the shopping from the episode before but the bulk of the volume was in this episode.

The double meaning is also amazin. If you choose from the only oprion you have, can you really call that your own desicion?. It is refering to him first as he didn't have an option until hiky gave him lne to reject and also for eveeyone else, who wouldnt have made their own desicions had hayato said where he was going

one of my favorite episodes since it's so complex, i'd say the lasting scenes with hayato would be his own version of hachiman's genuine scene

I love how this story subverts the idea of the popular and succesful guy not wanting the responsability and expectations but makes him up to be as someone who wants to carry those burdens but feels inadecuate
