Damn it, I just posted a whole long thing about the beserker mushroom and it’s lore/history in scandic/viking society in the 700-late 900s in the last episode. i forgot they said anything about it this ep. Idk if I should just re post that comment here w some edits but don’t want to spam the same ish. I think some people would find it interesting, and probably a good amount already know

The voice acting in Vinland is S Tier for both seasons. The Saga of Thorfinn is just beginning. When Vinland was originally released on Amazon Prime (before it came to CR) they dropped the first 4 episodes at once and then we waited 3 weeks before the next episode was released. What a cliffhanger to leave us on.

Askelad is such a great character, even if he is a ‘villain’ you can’t help but love him.

One detail to just keep in the back of your head, is that when Askeladd initially accepted the duel he as Askeladd, son of Olaf, swore to Odin but later when Thors told him to honor his oath as warrior, he instead swore on his ancestor Artorius.
