There were no 3rd years at the training camp. Any 3rd year would have been inducted in the under 18 Japan camp which is different from what kageyama went to. The camp that Kageyama goes to is just a farm system for the under 18 Japanese national team.

5:20. My guess is that they did not invite him because Bokuto is extremely moody. He is incredible, but the smallest thing can bring down / enhance his performance. Bokuto is a top 5 (probably top 3 in this tournament) spiker, but when he is under the water, he is below average. And he needs his team to pull him up whenever he is not doing alright and that's not something you need in an environment with a lot of new players. But that's just my 2 penny thoughts.
