"Lee" is a super common last name in China and Korea (although "Li" is the more recently popular way to romanize the Chinese version of the same last name). Remember, even though the anime is by A-1 (a Japanese studio), Solo Leveling is (South) Korean, not Japanese so everything is happening in South Korea, not Japan!
