This episode made me rethink our first glimpse of Lady Shin at the beginning of the show. I'd originally thought she tossed Maomao's note on the flower about the face powder being poison as her being dismissive because she thought it was wrong/unworthy but now it's clear that she wanted the baby to die so she wasn't going to allow anything to save him 🤬

I think Lady Lihua was inspired by Maomao's slap on her lady-in-waiting in season 1, then she wanted to try it too.

Maomao wanted to catch the lizard because it was one that can regrow it's tail and she wanted to study regrowth. If you remember last episode she mused about creating a drug that could regrow Jinshi's "missing" junk. For someone who says she isn't interested, she certainly thinks about Jinshi's dick or lack of a lot!
