Yes, Masachika and Yuki are full blood siblings. They are both first years because they were born 11 months apart and their birthdays fall on opposite sides for the April 1 cutoff for school entry. Masachika is the elder so ended up classmates with his younger sister. As to the other oddities surrounding them, you'll be enlightened in due course.

Just to be clear by the way, that little screenshot between the screen transitions after the reveal is there on purpose to be very clear. They aren't steps, or halves, or in-laws. They are legit siblings. As to the immediate question about the last name situation... guess you'll have to wait and find out! Can't be throwin' around spoilers after all :)

The anime was made following the Light Novel, which is the original material. So there will be quite some scenes different from the manga, so much that the manga is still behind in story compared to the anime season 1.
