theres an illustration released by the author on how they saw each other as time went by. From yamada's pov it was "classmate" -> "he is funny" -> "he is interesting" then to "i like him". On the I like him part, you'd see that one of the drawings on top of which month it currently is was a milk tea. The milk tea definitely sealed the deal xD because Ichikawa being very thoughtful made her heart skip a beat

Good job catching the milk tea detail, a lot of reactors I've seen missed that. One of my favorite theories I've seen float around is that Anna (Yamada) may have been curious about him before and had fun teasing him a little too, but her looking down at the tea and blushing like a tomato is the moment she really becomes aware of how MUCH she likes him. Like one of those "holy shit holy fuck he's actually super sweet and cute what the hell is going on" kinda moments. In fact, just thought of this comparison, it's kind of like her equivalent of when Ichikawa saw she still had his drawing in the nurse's office (I probably read that somewhere but it feels like I came up with it so let's pretend I did)

This series feels like a natural evolution from the old stagnant style of rom-coms regarding the pacing and progress of their relationship. It's a lot of show-not-tell with many of their moments, and every episode feels like an actual step forward for both characters. Yamada always gave me the feeling that she's always trying to meet where Ichikawa is emotionally when it comes to relationships and boundaries, and giving small pushes but not pushing him off a cliff.

for me, this was the point of no return. Before this ep some ppl were trashing on the anime of ichi the goat and I was like man I don't think it is "THAT BAD" I think he just a bit cringed but I still think have good resolves and that last scene made me I just waiting each week for this anime xD

Yay another episode! I completely agree with you all with the Karte cards coming in with the build up of their relationship especially with Kensuke Ushio's OST. Everything with this show is so well done.
